Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid Azulik at All Costs I can’t believe a place that charges luxury prices can provide such a disgusting and unacceptable experience. We stayed at Azulik expecting a peaceful, upscale getaway — instead, we were left without running water for TWO WHOLE DAYS. That means no showers, no sinks, no flushing toilets. Urine and feces just sat in the bowls of the bathrooms — in 90+ degree heat. It was revolting. The smell alone made the room unbearable. Worse than the physical conditions was the completely indifferent management. Not once did they offer us an alternative solution or compensation of any kind. We were essentially told to deal with it. No apologies. No accountability. No humanity. We ended up having to book and pay for a new hotel ourselves just to escape the nightmare. For a place that markets itself as an “eco-luxury” resort, this was a complete scam. Save yourself the money, stress, and literal filth — Azulik is a disaster.

We wanted to like this but unfortunately left after one night. The treehouse idea is cool but the room is extremely uncomfortable and the stench from the ocean was really strong. The tub shower water smelled like sulfur. We were worried all night as the rooms use candles and the only way out is a very hard to walk on series of bridges. Everything is made out of wood.

Mon amoureux et moi avons passé trois nuits à l’hôtel Azulik, dans une Skyview Villa de type hutte. Le cadre est magnifique, la décoration unique et originale mais le tout a vite tourné expérience désagréable. Dès la première nuit, de l’eau nous coulait sur la tête. Malgré une réparation supposée, la fuite est revenue la troisième nuit. Nous avons dû changer de position dans le lit, mettre un seau à nos pieds et protéger le lit avec des serviettes. Le confort? Presque inexistant. Aucune intimité, les voisins ont une vue en plongée dans la chambre. Moustiques partout, air climatisé insuffisant (28C la nuit), et une odeur nauséabonde dans les espaces communs complètent ce séjour qui aurait pu être une belle immersion dans la nature de type « luxe bohème rustique »… mais qui vire plutôt au camping sans luxe. Je dois dire que le rooftop offre une vue impressionnante et une ambiance incroyable pour un verre, mais c’est tout. À plus de 400 $ la nuit, cet hôtel est clairement surévalué, en déclin, et aurait grand besoin de rénovations. Même avec un dédommagement, je n’y retournerais pas.

It doesn’t have parking, only valet. So it takes like 3-5 minutes for them to bring your car when you want to go somewhere. It’s like 10-15 minutes drive to main restaurants and hotels. Mattress was uncomfortable, kinda of hard. The design and decoration of the hotel is very unique, 2 nights to experience it is enough. Room was cleaned, food was good, and the Mirador was spectacular!!

My stay at Azulik was wonderful. The hotel is one of a kind and an awesome experience. Paola, our receptionist greeted us every morning and was very friendly. We also received nice assistance from our concierge Olivia. The staff was great and I especially appreciate housekeeping for making the stay clean and attentive. Valet guys were always kind with great attitudes. I now have a family member that booked their stay at Azulik for August, and may refer others. Best, John

I saw the place on facebook one time and want to go there. Is a hotel on the tree so no stilettos 👠 or high sandals. The room was better than I what expected however the hotel is costly so is better to eat local. The room does not have coffee machine so don’t dream to hold a cup a coffee watching the sunsets so bring your. The Nido roof top to be able to seat on the tables you have to pay extra $60 USA even though you’re a guess so seat at the floor…so princely. I will stay only 2 days just for the experience. The private balcony is not cover on the lateral sites so no privacy for the couples. My boyfriend has to hang a towel to cover me every time I shower so the neighbors can’t see me naked. I gave the 5 start because is a nice concept, good security and customer service. The food is also good,

Underwhelming, there was a lot of hype around this property. It fell short. Three stars are fair. I am accustomed to the hotel front desk greeting me and asking to help me or offer assistance. They wouldn't even look up from their phones. Restaurants were mid. Wouldn't book here again.

As I pen this down, I'm currently staying at Azulik, reflecting on an experience that left much to be desired. My friend and I decided to venture upstairs for the highly recommended sunset experience, expecting a delightful evening. However, what transpired was quite the opposite. Upon arriving, I expressed a clear interest in the seating area that was blocked off, as there were simply no other available spots. The staff informed me that accessing that area would cost extra, to which I responded that price wasn't an issue. Assuming they understood, I walked away expecting them to guide us to the seats. It was only when I stopped for directions that I realized the staff member hadn’t moved. Despite standing still, she seemed unaware of my request, although her colleague beside her translated our conversation. Curiously, he didn't step in to assist further. Eventually, my friend consulted a waiter who informed us that we needed to pay upfront, a crucial detail that wasn’t mentioned at the desk. For the prices they charge, I anticipated a level of service that showed urgency and attentiveness to their guests' needs—especially for those staying at the resort. Reflecting on this experience, I can’t help but think about the potential business impacts. If I were managing this establishment, such oversight would be unacceptable, as it directly influences customer satisfaction and revenue. I wonder just how often this scen

Dear Azulik Team, Azulik is undeniably a stunning and unique property, and we truly appreciated the opportunity to stay and experience the design and natural ambiance you’re known for. That said, I wanted to share a few observations that impacted our overall experience: While most of the staff were warm and friendly, the front desk team member who checked us in didn’t greet us with a smile and had this weird energy, which felt a bit out of place for such a welcoming and guest-focused property. We had read in several reviews that the candles would be lit by the staff before returning in the evening, but in our case, we were given low-quality matches and had to do it ourselves—which was a struggle. I had also requested that the outdoor hot tub be cleaned, but unfortunately never received a response and it was not taken care of. Lastly, while we loved the concept, we found it difficult to sleep due to the waves crashing on the rocks below, which may be something to note for light sleepers. In all, we enjoyed the uniqueness of the experience, but would recommend it more for a one-night stay to take in the space rather than a longer, comfort-focused retreat.
