I was on hyper alert when alone and getting gas, going into quick market as some unsavory people hanging about. Just choose very busy gas stations, daytime. Lots of free 90 min street level parking downtown. There is alot of history and variety here

Excellent coffee shops and restaurants, good bookstores, some nice nature preserves. I came for a concert, and I wouldn't recommend Kalamazoo as a vacation destination. But if you are visiting the universities you can fill spare time.

I hate one way streets but was able to navigate quickly. I went for a concert and a mini beer tour. Had a great weekend!

The condition of this hotel does not relate to the city as a whole. I love Kalamazoo. I went to college there and spent 13 years of my life living there before relocating for a job. I travel there often but have never stayed at this hotel.

The city of Kalamazoo is amazing and this hotel is not a fair representation of the city and its people. If after you enjoy a full day in Kalamazoo and need to sleep somewhere and leave immediately when you wake up, this hotel would work.
"Customer service are polite and stay out of your business. I can be a little loud and I have visitors a lot and I have not received any complaints or reprimands from the staff or managers or anyone. "
