Secrets The Vine Cancun - Adults Only - All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"Pros: view was amazing! Italian restaurant was on point from the service to the food...amazing!! Size of room and balcony are spacious.
Cons:
At first glance, the hotel is esthetically pleasing. However, if you look a litter further...it's not that clean. Upholstery on all fabric and leather chairs need to be cleaned throughout the hotel. There was hair on the sheets, in the shower, on the balcony and in the water closet either from previous guests or the cleaning ladies. There was a roach in the Asian Fusion restaurant and when we brought it to 2 of the staff members attention, they seem to have an attitude towards us after that. There were also 2 roaches on our balcony. When we moved the chairs around, they were underneath eating food that I assume was dropped by previous guests. Obviously the cleaning staff must clean around the furniture vs moving it to ensure every inch is clean. Some of the staff were nice, some weren't. Specifically one of the cooks behind the grill in the market cafe (I think that's the name) where they made the pasta and omelets...she was rude. The drinks were watered down so you need to ask for shots instead just to get a little buzz. Lastly, I didn't like that they try to bamboozle you into sitting through a presentation to get a discount off a massage. I expected more from a 5-star hotel."
"Relaxing and a beautiful resort. If you want to just chill, enjoy the beach and amenities, this place is for you. It is quite far from Downtown Cancun as it is the last stop of the R2 bus in the hotel zone. The food is great and with the corresponding price tag. I had a great time for chilling here. For some night life or fun, go to Coco Bongo. Overall, a good place to rest, dine and chill. The beach front is gorgeous and the waves are strong. The pools are just mediocre, I’ve seen better pools. The room is spacious and sometimes there’s construction work that I can hear. The manager on duty was kind and helpful."
Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas - Adults Only- All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel just delivers. A pool that looks like Versace’s pool not so deep but just right. Restaurants that have amazing food and service that is at times is impeccable and so difficult to find these days.
This hotel is all and more in all categories, food, drinks, service and location.
Amazing place."
"There is so much to say about our family vacation—7 days and 6 nights! The food and restaurant were top-notch—absolutely no complaints there. However, the pool had no filtration; the water was yellow and reeked. All our swimsuits ended up in the trash—they were stained and impossible to wash clean. The area around the pool was extremely slippery; many people fell, myself included! Children even suffered bloody head injuries from falling. The shoreline was filthy—you couldn't even get into the water! The whole beach was covered in seaweed and smelled terrible. I wouldn't come back here again! It looks amazing in the photos, but that’s far from the reality. The kids' area is tiny, and there is absolutely nothing here for teenagers! We were very dissatisfied!!!"
Hotel Riu Palace Kukulkan - Adults Only - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"The property was wonderful to stay at, some of the most friendly and helpful staff I've come across at any of the all-inclusives I've been to. Property was clean, modern and maintained daily. Food was tasty, however, all of the restaurants don't open every night, so make sure to check their schedules before planning where you want to eat on which nights of your stay. Drinks variety was also pretty great.
It was a quieter hotel than other RIUs I've stayed at, but very relaxing. There were daily shuttles however, to parties happening at a nearby RIU hotel which were open and free to guests of this hotel. It's also a relatively compact hotel, in that, you don't have much walking to get from your room to the restaurants, bars, pools or beach. And as far as I could see from the shore, it was the the only hotel clearing out sargassum throughout the day for every day I was there, which is awesome.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay."
