The room, the beach, the pool—everything was good except for the service at the restaurant. I had paid for breakfast, but they made me wait a long time, telling me I hadn't paid for it. It was exhausting.

Let me start off by saying what a great stay at Hotel Cyan Resort&Spa. My wife and I spent 5 days at this great place, from the start we did not have any issues or set backs. Airport to hotel is a 26 min drive with peek traffic but on slow times the actually ride time is 16 minutes not far from airport. Upon arrival the employees greet you with a smile and help with luggage, receptionist very professional and explain everything to ensure clear communication with us as guest. The room was clean, some reviews people have complained about the sewer smell but it’s not as bad as people make it seem, please take in consideration that Hotel Cyan is one of the first hotels here in Zona Hotelera Cancún ( I did my research my reviews are truthful and honest) the curb appeal is not as good as the new and modern hotels and resorts in Cancun. To some guests the prices are expensive for a stay at this hotel but to some that understand and know that get what you pay for, don’t expect to be catered as the all inclusive resorts which Hotel Cyan is not all inclusive. Now to praise the great staff Hotel Cyan has, I can say the service provided by Fernando which was at the courtyard bar, Yaima also was super and very friendly, Ismely and Mr. William were attentive at the restaurant. We paid for the breakfast and as a few complained about the portions, the restaurant does have other meal options for a certain price. Also Jose the pool guy was very professional and kept pool clean every morning.

While the advertisement is beautiful the resort is old and outdated. There is a ton of rust around the pool. The poolside equipment looks very dingy and you have to put a towel down. If you get a stain on the linens you will be required to pay for it. I was afraid to even be comfortable in the room. There was an additional per day charge for any extra person not included on the itinerary which was not stated on any prior correspondence. The food at the restaurant was okay. The rooms had a foul smell that we had to get air fresheners from Walmart to help. I would not recommend.

The building and its amenities are in need of renovation, and it would be beneficial to have reception staff with stronger English proficiency, especially given that this is a popular vacation destination. During our stay, there were recurring noises coming from the toilet in our room, which disrupted our sleep on several occasions. That said, the staff do make an effort to keep the property clean, which we appreciated. However, the listing states that breakfast is included, which was not the case. Instead, only an à la carte menu is offered, with food that is fairly average yet quite expensive. In conclusion, this place may be a suitable option for budget travelers, but there are several areas that need improvement.

I found the physical structure and amenities very poorly maintained. To say “you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig” pretty much sums up the appearance! The location was good, with two local restaurants off site within walking distance. The hotel restaurant was decent. The pool and beach where good..The room cleanliness was excellent. To Sum it up, this was a low cost accommodation, clean and hospitable, with desperate need of remodeling. The hotel was built in 1946 ( The Bel Air Hotel)

The worst thing, almost unbearable, was air conditioning. When I checked in, the temperature inside the room was 17 degrees Celsius (64 F), (my phone can measure room temperature). The air conditioning unit display was 23 degree Celsius (74 F). I increased it to 25 C and air conditioning stopped working. Within an hour the temperature reached 30 C (86 F). Those were the only options. When I complained to the staff, they recommended to try various settings.

En las fotografias del internet los cuartos se ven mas grandes y modernos pero la realidad es que no estan tan grandes. Las ventanas necesitan limpiarse porque se ven opacas. El aire acondicionado hace un poco de ruido.

Podría estar más limpio, no es a 5 minutos de playa delfines como dice aquí, está a dos kilómetros, caminando es más de media hora. La alberca es muy bonita eso sí. Es buen precio para lo que entregan pero no es lo que promocionan, se promociona más bonito de lo que es. El agua de bañarse no se siente tan limpia
