"Hotel is near the castle ruins, shopping dori and many food choices within walking distance. However, hotel's location is not near to the main Kumamoto Station so the only transport to rely on is via tram, not recommended for those who have big luggage as tram can be packed and difficult to move up and down with luggage. Perhaps it will be good for hotel to provide free pick up and drop off services to and from Kumamoto station. Buffet breakfast is decent and staff are all friendly."

"Simple and good. Room was clean. Location is decent. Some considerations: You’d have to carry your luggage up to the second or third floor. If you are 180cm or taller, the shower would be too small for you. Nothing particularly exceptional but nothing bad either. Good value place. "

"The flat is more spacious than I expected and we appreciated the washer and balcony equipped for drying clothes. The kitchen area is very small so it was hard to cook. The futons were very comfortable on the mezzanine level and, although the fan helped, it was very hot during the summer to sleep as the a/c does not reach that high. Location was excellent for exploring Kumamoto"

"It almost felt like I was staying with a host family rather than a hostel. The hosts are so nice and speak English very well and had tons of amazing recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Breakfast each morning was especially nice and very traditional. Walkable to downtown and the bus station and very clean. Thanks for an amazing stay!"

"This ryokan is super cool and awesome. From staff services to view of its scenary, you really cannot complain much. I have to mention their backyard (garden) and outdoor onsen, they are my highlights. Highly recommended"
