"The hotel was convenient and in a great location. I would definitely stay in this area again. It was clean. My only complaint was that the fridge wasn't working and the blind wouldnt work both of which I reported to reception. "

"My room was on 22nd floor and the hotel was mid renovation on that floor, so it was in a poor state, lots of workers and lots of noise. The shower pressure was truly terrible, to the point it was very difficult to use. No coffee or water in the rooms. Lifts broke down with us inside once… the hotel in general was a little tired. Staff were generally nice, and the room I was in had just be renovated so was quite nice inside."

"I’d give The New Yorker Hotel a 6/10 overall. The location and building itself are nice, but my experience ended on a frustrating note. I was charged a smoking fee even though I have never smoked in my life. Apparently their sensor was triggered by hairspray, which set it off and resulted in the charge. Now I’m stuck dealing with disputing a fee for something that simply didn’t happen. It’s honestly been a huge pain to deal with, and situations like this make the stay feel a lot less enjoyable. I understand hotels enforcing no-smoking policies, but charging such a large fee without properly verifying what actually triggered the sensor feels unfair. Because of that experience, I can’t rate my stay higher than a 6/10."

"Best value in the neighborhood, hands down. You can get a room with a spectacular view for what a closet costs in other LES hotels. Design is spare and inviting. Premium rooms are best—but the premium rooms cost what basic rooms cost elsewhere in the LES. However: the service. I’m a longtime New Yorker, and I know from brusque attitude not being necessarily rude. This ain’t it. Multiple front desk peeps get legit mad at me for asking questions. Most don’t look you in the eye. Bro barked “ID!” when I started spelling my name for the reservation—before I finished speaking. Clearly they’re swamped—big hotel—and maybe understaffed? I can’t stay mad at people in a service role. It’s a lot to deal with. But. I stay here almost every time I come to New York, and I’m gonna keep doing it, because, like I say, tremendous value, best neighborhood. Just wish they’d take a lesson from their neighbors, say, across the street, or down a couple blocks—way less worthwhile hotels, but they’re nice to you."

"Besides an issue with streaming on the TV, the hotel exceeded my expectations. I’ve been here before for some of the events but never for a stay. Our room, granted the most expensive, was surreal with the views and the details. The hotel is in proximity of everything you need. Concierge was prompt and accommodating. Looking forward to another stay soon. "
