"Everything was fine except for a very bad smell that came out from the toilet. It was really awful. I don’t think that it has anything to do with the staff that clean the bathroom; it must be a sewer problem. By the way, it seems like other people had the same complaint about it because I read in one of the Exe Saldanha’s reviews."

"The room was great - spacious, well furnished, clean, check in and door staff were wonderful, breakfast let the whole experience down - not remotely 5* more of a Holiday Inn / Premier Inn 2 or 3* basic buffet with average service. Stay in the hotel but don’t take breakfast! Small gripe about the 15 min queue to check out but that’s partly on me for doing it at 12pm on the dot!"

"The rooms were unique ( we Stayed in a melody room). The shower was amazing, and the opaque doors did not make it see through. The fridge in the room was a welcome addition along with a kettle. The bed was big, but too firm and creaky for my personal taste, but others may prefer it. The TV had a few English speaking channels, more so than other hotels. The breakfast was excellent quality, and waiting staff were friendly and constantly replenishing the food. There were dressing gowns, and an excellent hairdryer. (A rarity in even 5 star hotels), and the room lighting was superb. ( not good when you apply make up in a dimly lit hotel room, and discover you look like coco the clown in natural light😀). The location is excellent. A metro station right on your doorstep, and restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. I would leave shoes with heels at home, as cobbles are everywhere. There is a lovely rooftop bar, with great cocktails at reasonable prices and lovely staff, unfortunately it was a bit too windy during our stay up there to make the most of it. My only negative comment is that the street/ traffic noise was quite bad at night. Our room was on the front facing pombal park. It may not be an issue for those who aren’t light sleepers. There are three Fenix hotels right next to this one, and the Fenix Lisboa has an inside bar, where you have the treat of a lovely barman named Fernando. He has been there for 53 years and is a credit to the company."
