「The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. 「Upgraded our room once the error in booking was realised. Good breakfast and dining areas. Clean and tidy. We were the only family there I feel amongst the golfers, which was expected but felt welcome nonetheless. We sea/dunes/golf course view from our room.」

「Though an old building, it is very well maintained. Very clean and the host (Alice) very friendly and helpful. it is beautifully placed and our room overlooked the Musselburgh Racecourse/ golfing green. Breakfast (though continental) was very nice and you were able to choose what you wanted and at what time and this was brought up to your room in a lovely basket. Our whole stay there was lovely and would definitely stay there again :)」

「Very clean and convenient. A little strange that I had to give my license plate number as they have a private park ing ticketing company given parking tickets out. I guess it's a way to make money off guest if they forget to punch in. Stayed in Hotels all over the world, but never seen this tourist trap before.」
