"Everything (cleanness, staff, beach view) was good, but the drinking water. Admittingly, the water from the faucet was good enough (still, I was boiling it), but having a bottled water (or a water fountain) would be helpful"

"Terrible staff, disgusting moldy room, old squeaking bed: A very rude desk manager greeted us Friday around 10pm saying the Expedia name was not accurate and we have to leave. Expedia explained the reservation was correct but she wouldn't honor it, so Expedia had to cancel it and desk manager had me book a different room directly on my card — $60 more expensive, queen beds instead of the reserved king bed. The room had tons of mold in the bathroom, both my girlfriend and I got sick the following day. Took multiple photos of the mold. Will certainly be reporting to the NJ Department of Health — curious if they'll keep their "AAA Cleanliness Award" after that. Disgusting experience"

"I arrived early and the owners allowed us to check in and even gav e us an option of second or third floor. The room was clean and the hotel was conveniently located and well as easy to find."

"The desk attendant told us that May and October are big times for weddings at the hotel and in Cape May. During our two-night stay in May, the hotel hosted weddings on both Friday and Saturday nights. The events drew a lot of people, and included loud music in the dining room until 10 PM (the bass beat reverberated in our room 2 floors up) and crowded gatherings on the historic porch that excluded us being able to enjoy it. Nevertheless, the hotel and staff are lovely, and Cape May in May is really nice. We understand why the hotel is popular for weddings but if we return we would avoid May or October. "

"Spent a few days at the Queen Victoria. The staff was very friendly. The location was very good as well. The Victorian detail was very nice throughout. We were not very happy with the room because it was extremely small - the bathroom sink was literally at the foot of the bed. Perhaps that was the room I picked, but I did not realize how tiny it was. The room was on the third floor. It was not a pleasant walk up those flights of stairs as they were very long and steep. None of our group were happy with the breakfast - this was the number one disappointment for everyone in our group. The options were not good, but the staff was very good. On our last day we ended up going to a diner for breakfast so we can have what we wanted. Overall… The location was good and the staff was attentive. However, I would not stay at the Queen Victoria again. Would definitely look for a different option."
