「The staff was great. The breakfast was really handy to have. They have free coffee 24/7 the cleanliness of the rooms is questionable. You definitely want to wipe everything down twice. 」

「The staff is friendly but not enough to manage a hotel. I stayed for 8 days and not once did housekeeping check on my room. There were no towels. I used my 2 towels for the entire stay. They ran out of coffee lids. The coffee was delicious but very hot with no lid. The hotel is going through new ownership so that could be the problem. The staff doesn’t even have a dress code. Very unusual. But on a good note the pool is great.」

「Pour le prix payé 260 $ par nuit nous avons été terriblement déçu. Avons dû changer de chambre car 1 ère sentait l’humidité ++++ et pour se rendre compte que la chambre n’avait pas été nettoyé des clients qui étaient dans la chambre avant nous. Pour la 2 e chambre celle ci était ok mais sans plus. La propreté laisse à désirer dans l’hôtel au complet. Petit déjeuner de base. Air climatisé très bruyante.」

「There were some pros and cons. The construction was a huge disappointment. In the addition of having to drive and walk though the construction areas (mud and maybe nails), we also had to hear the noise in the evening and early morning. We should’ve been notified or at least offered a discount because of the inconvenience. The private beach was nice, but there were no towels because they ran out. Be prepared to bring some from the hotel. No ventilation in the bathroom, toilet paper isbetween...

「The Hungry Trout Resort is a classic place to stay if you are interested in fishing the Ausable River. Very convenient with private access to the river. The fly shop on premises is excellent with great guides! The Pub was great in years past but is closed now. I really hope it reopens. The upscale restaurant is very nice with great views of the falls. Overall a solid place to stay without the hustle of staying in Lake Placid but close enough to go there for dinner.」

「I feel like this is a true hidden gem. We honestly had no idea what to expect and were completely blown away. So much so that ee extended our stay just to continue enjoying the excellent hospitality.」
