"This is one of a handful of classy historic hotels near major rural attractions in Japan. A real old fashioned high-end style and treatment that makes you think you're in the 1930s. The location is convenient to the Nara Park where the historic attractions are located. It is not in walking distance of either train station."

"Fantastic breakfast including fresh breads and Japanese hot dishes. Homemade fresh local tofu. Many organic foods.
Close to station and shops and restaurants.
Great view of Nara City at night during the happy hour or morning during breakfast.
Basic pillow was traditional Japanese pillow filled with beans or grain. Other softer pillows were available from the front reception area.
The hotel is working hard to reduce/eliminate carbon footprint.

From the very first time we arrived in Asuka, on to the house. We were surprised by it's magic. The room was super clean and well-maintained, with complementary amenities (rice crackers, water bottles, etc.). There was a laundry machine, too, which was convenient. The proximity to both JR and Kintetsu Nara Stations (about 7 minutes on foot) was definitely a plus. I highly recommend this place for anyone.
