A highlght from our trip. If you can, definitely stay here at least one night, instead of doing a day-trip to Nara (more time if you can spare it!) The hotel and staff are just fantastic. This gives you an idea of what you can expect from a hotel that receives foreign and local dignitaries and heads of state. Walking distance from the park/ landmarks and also restaurants and shopping nearby. The room itself was ample (more than you will probably see in your whole stay in Japan) with modern rooms incorporated into a fantastic historic building.

So far it's the best place (out of five) I've stayed in Japan on this trip. Hotel is very comfortable and inviting with interesting history. Rooms are well sized and well designed making out stay really pleasant.

A beautiful old building, a wonderful Suite with two bathrooms, two balconies unfortunately no balcony furniture to sit outside, the staff was helpful and friendly. Great location to reach many Nara highlights, restaurants and shops by foot.

Deer central - a special experience

A lovely sized room in a great location. The negatives were for us that the bed was a bit hard and the bathroom a bit dated. In saying that this is a traditional hotel and has wonderful history. Bar area very comfortable with good atmosphere and attentive staff. We were lucky to see deer on our way to dinner in town and from our balcony on the lowest floor of the new building. This very much made our stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful view of the lake. Right next to the ropeway. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff very helpful. Worth getting a room with a private onsen type of bath.

Historical hotel close to Nara Park

An awesome, historical hotel with very high ceilings, giving a bit collonial vibes. Bike rental is a great option they offer.
