"Positives: nice pool area, wasn’t overcrowded and kept very clean. Easy beach access. Rooms are average-clean and included a fridge, microwave and sink area. Beds were comfortable and AC worked great. Negatives: staff are not welcoming and there is absolutely no communication at check-in regarding amenities, etc. Had no idea where to get beach towels, location and hours of operation for anything on the property (casino, bowling alley, go cart track, restaurants) were never mentioned. Had to ask multiple staff in both the Aquarius and Embassy where we could eat, and was sent to multiple different locations to find all of the restaurants closed. Spoke to other people staying there who also had children with them and they said they had to walk 20 mins to Burger King to eat dinner. Apparently the restaurants are not open Mon-Wed. We ended up taking an Uber to “downtown” Dorado and ate at Katrina, which had great empanadas. Overall it was a decent hotel for the price and we didn’t spend much time in our room. If you are looking for an average hotel to get away for some pool and beach time for a discount this hotel will do. "

"Great little gem in Dorado. Rooms are well appointed. Pool is fantastic. Gym has everything you need. Onsite restaurant has tasty food "

"Lost hot water after 30 seconds, toilet was “self flush” we had to refill the bowl after every flush. Bed was uncomfortable. Little tiny pillows. Staff unfriendly and not helpful. Parking is accross the street. The staff had to open to let you but they were always too busy to let you in. We had to wait, call and try to get someone to open gate. Then my husband got locked in the parking area for almost 20 minutes waiting for someone to open the gate. Sink in bathroom would not drain. Towels were scratchy. We were booked to return to this hotel after our cruise- we canceled. For over 200.00 a night…no thank you. "

"Armas hotel was a great place to stay before and after our cruise. It’s located in a great spot in old San Juan making the area 100% walkable. Great restaurants, fun open air bars lots of sites to see. I would definitely stay there again."

"The rooms were clean, but the furniture inside the rooms needs improvement. For example, one of the roller blinds was broken, with a large hole that allowed daylight to come in from outside. In addition, the bed sheet was slightly stained; it looked like it had bleach marks. The design of the rooms is also very outdated, especially the lamps. I believe thicker sheets should be provided, as the ones available are very thin and it gets cold in the room even when the air conditioning is turned off. "Waited 2 hours after check in. When they called for room it came up as spam and no message was left. We just happen to be around the corner so stopped in to see if it was their call and it was. They did give us 2 free continental breakfasts and $21 food & drink credit. Went for breakfast and there were at least 10 people in line ahead of us. We were told at least 20 minute wait. We had already been in line 10 minutes. As we stood there we saw 8 empty tables. When we asked about the empty tables we were told "we are making a wait list". The night before we just want to relax and have a drink so we went to the bar on the second floor and were seated on the patio. After being ignored for 15 minutes we left. We went to bar downstairs they were much more friendly and entertaining. Hot tub did not work which sucked after a 10 hour plane ride. Talked to other guest and everyone we spoke to were all disappointed with the waits and service. It was very heartbreaking to hear an elderly couple trying to check in at 6 pm and being told their room was not ready. They visible looked exhausted. That is not right on so many levels. Check in is at 4 pm. You need to make sure rooms are ready. There were plenty of employees standing around maybe cross training would be beneficial to get rooms clean. We are avid NCL cruisers and are on many NCL Facebook pages where we share our experiences and trust me we will be sharing our experience at the hotel."
