One-Night Stay in a Great Location, but Some Disappointments
I stayed here for one night, arriving a day before my family to enjoy Old San Juan a bit longer. I arrived at the hotel around 12:30 PM and had requested an early check-in, which I understand is based on availability—but unfortunately, it wasn’t granted.
Be aware that the photos online are a bit misleading. They show a bar in the lobby area, which I was looking forward to while waiting, but there is no bar on-site. The actual lobby also looks quite different from the pictures. That said, the hotel did offer luggage storage while I waited, which was helpful.
Despite the rain, I enjoyed walking around Old San Juan. The location of this hotel is excellent, with many restaurants, shops, and attractions just steps away.
The front desk staff handled check-in, but they weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming. Coffee and water were available in the lobby, which I appreciated. Bottled water is also available at the front desk for $2.
I was finally able to check in at 3:00 PM. The room itself was a comfortable size, and I had a balcony overlooking Calle La Fortaleza, which was exactly what I wanted. That said, the street is very lively and noisy with both traffic and late-night crowds—something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper. It didn’t bother me personally.
