"This was my first trip to Taiwan and I’d highly recommend the Shangri-La hotel. All staff speaks English and are very high-service oriented. For example, there weren’t any microwaves available in the rooms, so housekeeping offered to reheat our leftovers from a restaurant and served it to us beautifully plated. The hotel is situated next to the local train station so it’s convenient to get to via public transportation. There’s also a big mall next door with great restaurants as well as good quality fast food restaurants, bakeries that serve coffee & espresso drinks. There’s a bridge over the train tracks so you can easily walk across to the central district of Tainan which is way more busy & congested. There was a slight problem with our original room, they were so concerned and fixed the problem immediately. "

"The industrial/loft trendy interior design was not my cup of tea, but I ended up loving this hotel despite that. Great shared kitchen/dining facility and beautiful shared guest patio. Love the energy and enthusiasm. Beautifully maintained."
