The hotel oversold the rooms and apparently that means the hotel gets to pick and choose who they want to lie to. My room was supposed to be ready at 12, it wasn’t. I literally chose to come stay here because of the bar. Unfortunately I couldn’t see past the horrible front desk experience. I was hoping to like this place so that my family and friends would have a comfortable stay while in NYC. I will never stay here again or subject people that I love to this place. The room I was promised was not what I was given. The lady tried to gaslight me and manipulate the situation. People think I’m extremely young but I’m not and try to treat me poorly based on my appearance. Save yourself the headaches and don’t book here. Here’s the list of things that were not working: the TV wouldn’t go any louder than like a quarter of the volume, there was no refrigerator unless you want to pay $10 per day, there’s one microwave on a certain floor, the noise from the street and sirens at all hours of the day and night, and the food gave me food poisoning. This was my first impression of Harlem and it’s not a good one.

My stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Harlem was honestly such a vibe. The location is perfect—right in the heart of everything, with easy access to food spots, shopping, and the energy Harlem is known for. The hotel itself felt modern and clean, and the aesthetic gave just enough luxury without feeling over the top. The room was comfortable, nicely designed, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed? Super cozy—definitely gave me a good night’s sleep. I also appreciated how quiet it was, considering how lively the area can be. Customer service was solid. The staff was welcoming and helpful, making check-in and the overall experience smooth. You can tell they’re used to taking care of guests and keeping things running efficiently. If I had to point out anything, it would be that parking and pricing in the area can be a little tricky—but that’s just New York in general, not really on the hotel. The front desk staff will provide a list of parking garages that are nearby. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again. It’s a great mix of comfort, location, and style—perfect for a getaway, whether you’re visiting the city or just doing a little staycation.

All was good, excepting the fact that room is a bit small for 4 persons, doesn't have carpect on the floor which is surprising for a hotel in the USA and I had to request a fridge for a fee which is again surprising for a 8.8 rating 4start hotel in the USA.

The hotel was nice and the staff were wonderful, however, I have never been in a hotel where there is no privacy in the bathroom. From the bedroom you see the back of the mirror and the cabinet, but there is a space between the mirror and the cabinet for no privacy. Then the bathroom door only goes to the cabinet so a quarter of that wall is open. If you're alone, I guess it will do but it doesn't work with more than one person in the room or if you have a visitor. WTH One last thing, I would never have booked with Expedia if I had known I wouldn't get points for my stay. No more booking with Expedia. I will book through the hotel or through Marriott Bonvoy. $1000 for 3 nights and no reward points. Never again.

This hotel is beautiful. We stayed here during a mourning time for our family. The staffwas very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean. We were given two $25 restaurant vouchers, which we didn’t get to use(We’ll take advantage next time).Our room view was from the 12th floor overseeing 125th street which was plus. The only thing I would do different is to book a room with accessibility. The bathrooms are a lot bigger than the standard room. Overall rating 4.7 out of 5.

Convenient location in a part of the city without many hotels. Close to multiple subway lines. Some might not like the immediate surroundings. No “park view” from my park view room, but interesting view of the city. Poor communication at check-in. I’d stay there again.

The room was gorgeous. The black and white tile, the gold fixtures, and the Langston Hughes poetry, all created a beautiful room. The staff were excellent.
