"Mixed feelings about this hotel. The main lodge is great. Updated property, friendly staff, large pool, good restaurant, plenty of sit down areas to relax, and some nice amenities. Problem is I did not stay in the main lodge, I stayed in their cottages, and this is where the review suffers. The cottages are advertised as a private option a short walk from the lodge. This is false advertising. Each cottage has one main entrance that leads to three separate room doors, so the cottage has shared walls and parking with other guests. One of the rooms is upstairs so chances are you get to wake up to kids stomping around in the morning. The rooms themselves are about the equivalent of a $100 motel. Carpets are gross, everything has that sticky feeling to it, squeaky fans, water that takes five minutes to get hot, and the patio was a mud pit with a couple chairs in it. I might stay in one of the lodge rooms if the price is right, but the cottage rooms are a huge disappointment."

"The Mariposa Lodge is conveniently located on the route to Yosemite National Park and right in the heart of town. The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, though the property is an older motel and does show some signs of age. That said, we chose to spend our travel budget on enjoying Yosemite and the surrounding area rather than paying premium prices for lodging inside the park. Overall, the Mariposa Lodge provided a good value, a convenient location, and excellent customer service, making it a great base for exploring Yosemite."

"If you stay more than one day-keep your in room coffee cup. Rinse it and keep it!!! went to front desk and they wouldn’t give a cup behind their counter. Said we could buy a paper cup for 3.50 each at the gift shop.. or bring the cup in our room. They don’t provide room service unless you call. I guess if you don’t keep your coffee cup from the day before, you can call housekeeping and maybe they will show up with a cup. And we only had one washcloth for two people for two nights."

"Overall our stay was good. We had issues with our air conditioning not working in one of the bedrooms. After some fiddling, we just turned it off and ran the air conditioner in the other bedroom as cold as possible and used fans to circulate the air. The location was convenient, clean and the kids enjoyed the pool."

"We chose this hotel because of the proximity to Yosemite and the free breakfast. Breakfast was from 6-9. The first morning we got there about 6:15. There was a decent selection. The second morning we got to breakfast about 7 am. There were no eggs, yogurt, or even peanut butter left. So, no protein except some questionable looking sausage. When I asked, they said they were out until the next delivery. The third morning was worse. Even the apple juice was gone. And, the restaurant onsite was closed too."
