"It was a really nice experience. It was great that we had to take our shoes off at the entrance it really sets the vibe tha this is a true Ryokan. The room was super clean and well thought out. The facilities overall were excellent as well. Onsen was super clean and the Yukatas that they provided were fun and comfortable to wear during our stay. "

"I stayed 2 nights at Gora Kansuiro as a solo traveler, in July and I absolutely loved my stay! The staff were very friendly and professional. I even got to practice my broken japanese with some of them. The ryoukan is very traditional, which is the charm, and entire reason i loved it so much. It might not be for you if you have bad knees or back, as sitting on tatami mats an sleeping on futons could be uncomfortable for you, just something to consider. My room «Sakura» had a view of the gardens, and a private onsen bath. I had a dip in my private onsen bath every time I got home from sightseeing, and in the evenings before going to bed, and it really rejuvenates you. Also, I was allowed in public bath with my two full tattoo sleeves, which was a refreshing change from everywhere else i have been so far! The outdoor bath is highly recommended in the late evening when it is dark outside. Both dinner and breakfast were traditional japanese cuisine. Everything was delicious, and the Wagyu was maybe the best thing I have tasted in my entire life. The gardens are absolutely stunning, and I highly recommend taking a stroll in the early morning. The placement is great, near Gora Station and the ropeway. I can not recommend this place enough, and might come back here next time i visit Hakone. "
