A truly incredible experience!! The room, amenities, food and staff were all phenomenal!! As soon as you walk into the room, you are greeted with the most amazing views and private onsen. My husband and I wanted to make this trip special and I’m so glad we booked this property because it achieved that goal. I would absolutely recommend this property to any person visiting Hakone. It was amazing! Also, the food packages are absolutely worth it— at the very least book the breakfast and then grab dinner separately one of the nights!
Staff was super nice, attentive and helpful.
Very limited restaurant options. If you're vegan/vegetarian, forget about it... You'll find nothing at the hotel and very limited and basic options in town.
The hotel is nice and well maintained.
No gym! That's a basic requirement from such an expensive hotel!
What an amazing stay! Everything was so clean and well taken care of. I've recommend this property to all of my friends and family. Dinner was amazing! The room with the private onsen was so relaxing.
This is certainly a five star hotel. The location is beautiful with spectacular views of the mountains. The sound of an adjacent creek was very calming. The staff was courteous and helpful. The food at the restaurant and guest lounge was delicious. Definitely I will be returning as soon as I can.
Amazing property with gorgeous views. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Outdoor spa was used daily. Room amenities were great - shampoos, lotions, face mists, bamboo hairbrush, drinks etc. Had a chance to visit the spa and highlight recommend for a relaxing massage. Restaurant was above expectations and chef made it a memorable experience for us. We will be visiting again.
The hôtel is wonderful! Every detail has been carefully considered and crafted using high-quality materials.
The lounge, with snacks and drinks, adds to the hotel experience.
Unfortunately, the dining room left us with mixed feelings regarding the dining experience. We made requests that were not honored. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the staff's attitude changed, and our dining room experience became unpleasant.
It's a real shame because, although the hotel is extraordinary, I would hesitate to book again.
Wonderful hotel! Probably the best at Hakone all they gave four stars for amenities because we would’ve liked to have a gym in the hotel. Otherwise we couldn’t have picked a better place.
I had an amazing stay at this hotel in Hakone. The room was spacious, and I particularly loved having a private onsen. The atmosphere perfectly captured the charm of a traditional Japanese ryokan, making the stay feel really special. Breakfast was also beautifully presented and a great way to start the day. I would happily stay here again.
My only recommendation for future guests would be to book dinner in advance. We were unable to dine at the hotel in the evening and struggled to find restaurants nearby with availability. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay.
Hakone Gora Karaku was absolutely incredible! One of our favourite stays in Japan. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were exceptional, the service was so nice, the room was stunning, and the onsen baths were such a relaxing treat.
The staff were incredibly kind and hospitable, making the whole experience feel extra special for our family. The location is perfect, right near the train station and the Hakone loop, making everything so easy.
A truly unforgettable stay we loved every moment.
It was a wondeful stay. while it is expensive, it is worth it for the level of facilities and staff.
The breakfast is very traditional japanese but it is part of the full experience. People should embrace and try it because we had both the western and the japanese breakfast and both were very well prepared with fresh ingredients and great flavor. The staff tries to do a good job.

Perfect relaxing stay. Staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating. Naia at Mitsuki was very knowledgeable and made each meal a wonderful experience. The clothing and environment was immaculate but welcoming. We would definitely come back.
Great location and good service. But make sure you book spa treatment before arrival or else difficult to secure an appointment, the same with omakase dinner at the Japanese restaurant.
