4/10 Poor

"The stay itself was good, location was great and room was very comfortable. The issues and poor service happened after out stay. When we checked in we were asked for a deposit, told it would be a 180$ hold on the card that would be removed after we check out, no problem totally normal. We checked out at the front desk, handed in our room keys and were told you pre paid so you are good to go. 4 days later we call to see why our card was charged to then be told of extra fees? No one said anything about extra fees when we checked in and we weren’t even given an invoice at check out. The person put us on hold almost 15 minutes then hung up, called back and asked for a manager, we were transferred to a full mailbox. Been trying to call for over 45 min and no answer. Beyond unacceptable, no professionalism whatsoever and no customer support at all. Really disappointing. When we finally reached someone over an hour later we were told yes it’s busy so my colleague hung and was going to call you back. What a joke honestly. Safe to say will definitely never stay here again or recommend this place."

"Typical big city stay. Great location. Next to Grand Central terminal with several street accessable subway entrances. I would recommend the Commadore club for a nice clean getaway with and a protected outside terrace. No street view but beautiful architecture above. A few short blocks from times square, Bryant Park, NYC Public library, tons of shopping. Best of all rent an ebike across the street and take a city ride. The Junior suite was very nice, roomy, very clean, it looked out to other walls. I would stay here again but ask for a room with a street view. For a downtown room it was quiet and well air-conditioned. Plenty of restaurants and Street food vendors. An expansive mall at Grand central and a huge food court on the lower level of the station just 5 minutes walk from the hotels front door. The breakfast buffet was $55 a person which caught us off guard. But good for their selection. Fresh fruits, meats, breads, blintz's, pancakes, eggs. Bacon, sausages, veggie omelets. We enjoyed our stay and will be back to this property."

"Disappointed. We chose the Westin over several less expensive alternatives because of the consistently positive experiences we have enjoyed with your brand in the past. Unfortunately, this stay fell well below the standards we have come to expect and has left us questioning whether we will return in the future. Upon arrival, my wife was greeted by a check-in agent whose manner was noticeably unfriendly and dismissive. The agent barely looked up from her screen, interrupted my wife while she was speaking, and was unable to clearly explain an additional charge that appeared on the reservation. This charge had not been encountered during previous stays, and the lack of a satisfactory explanation only added to the frustration. The room was clean upon check-in, and housekeeping service after the first night was generally acceptable, aside from mismatched pillowcases. However, following the second night, it appeared that housekeeping standards had deteriorated significantly. The bedding did not appear to have been changed, the bathroom counter had not been wiped down, and the desk surface was also left uncleaned. When my wife raised these concerns with reception, she was informed that the hotel had experienced a “high volume of guests” that day. While we understand that operational pressures can arise, this explanation does not excuse a failure to provide the basic level of cl"

"Excellent location in midtown in order to travel north or south of the manhattan. The rooms were large and comfortable, but the lighting in the room was very dim. We sent a note to the manager but there was no response. The only thing that was not good was charging the resort fee which was about $50 a day for amenities that most people in the hotel do not use. Restaurant off the lobby for breakfast and dinner was convenient and the staff were very attentive. However the breakfast was expensive ( $14- $18 for omelette / eggs or yogurt ) and it had a limited menu. We ended up going to various places on Madison which was half the price - eg. Pret n manger. We would stay again."
