"There is an extra fee called an urban fee that cost 26 dollars per day you stay and you also have to pay tax on top of everything. This fee is for breakfeast and other amenities that don't even come close to being worth the extra money. The breakfast only lets you get one item for each person in your room without paying extra. The bed are ok nothing special, but the pillows suck. "

"I was extremely disappointed with my stay. The hotel charged me a “reservation recovery fee” for each night, which was never disclosed at the time of booking. I booked through Expedia under the clear understanding that the total price included all taxes and fees, as explicitly stated in the listing. To make matters worse, the hotel did not provide any receipt or mention these additional charges at check-in. The front desk attendant specifically told me my card was only being held for incidentals, there was no mention of any extra fees. It wasn’t until I noticed the charges later and called back that they provided a questionable receipt attempting to justify them. Expedia has also been unhelpful in resolving this issue or explaining why these undisclosed charges were allowed in the first place. On top of the billing concerns, my room was never cleaned during my entire stay, which is completely unacceptable. Overall, this experience felt deceptive and unprofessional. I would strongly caution others to double check charges and consider alternative accommodations."

"This hotel is always a nice spot. My go-to in Chicago. It is consistently clean, the food selection at Hoyt’s is great and Juan is a wonderful server there. I typically arrive late but my room is always ready and I have no issues with amenities or location in the city. Love Royal Sonesta"

"The staff was very friendly. We were needy in our room and needed more coffee and more blankets and they brought them up so quickly and were so polite. The staff always said hi and goodbye when we walked through the lobby. They always greeted us with a smile."
