「We had a really disappointing experience with Powhatan Motel. After driving 16 hours on a long road trip, we arrived around 3am expecting to check in, since the motel clearly advertises a 24-hour front desk and check-in availability after 4pm. 「The whole place could use a very very deep clean. The lock to my door didn't work, so I couldn't leave anything in the room to get food places. Even after bringing it up, they didn't want to accommodate me with a room with a working lock. And by working lock, I mean you can physically enter the room without a key card. Since they're pet friendly get ready to see all the leftover pet stains, under UV the place looks like a Jackson Pollock painting. High touch surfaces not cleaned.」

「The AC didn’t work. I told the night guy and he tried to convince me that it was working. I said it would be OK until morning as it was going to be a cool night but hot the next day. He assured me something would be done by morning. The next morning the day guy had no idea about my situation. He did finally move us to another room.
