「Although we didn't get to meet our hostess, the owner/host and his staff were fantastic. The pub was cosy and clean and extremely reasonably priced and the service was amazing. Very pleasant and friendly people who genuinely cared about making our stay pleasurable. Absolutely recommend and should we find ourselves down that way again, we will most certainly stay here. 「Friendly staff. Room very clean. Bed lovely & comfy. Could have done with a net that fitted window. No breakfast or food but we only used as a base to visit relatives so that didn’t matter. Fridge in room was good to chill drinks. 」

「Lovely setting and views from the hotel public areas and our room. Quiet and peaceful. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Room spacious , clean and comfortable. Breakfast was self serve offering a good choice of hot & continental. Swimming pool was closed whilst we were there unfortunately but hot tub jacuzzi and sauna were open and available along with other Spa facilities. Would definitely stay again.」

「A little gem. Had a fantastic weekend stay at The Smugglers. From the minute we checked in to the moment we left, the staff made us very welcome. 「The first room we were given was not up to 3 star standard. We contacted reception the next morning and they were very considerate and we were offered an alternative room that was more acceptable. The location, food and the staff were excellent. We hope to return.」

「We had a wonderful stay at Stoke Lodge, having visited on and off over a long period of time, the new owners have made a comfy, friendly and relaxing hotel. The food was delicious and they happily adapted to special dietary requirements. We can't wait to visit again.」

「Stunning country castle style hotel. Rooms finished to a very high standard. Staff were wonderfully attentive, seemed genuinely pleased to help and proud of their establishment.
