"The breakfast had a great variety, they do charge for parking but a reasonable 15.00 a night. They gave a fitness center, a little convenience "store" for essentials. It is conveniently location within walking distance to so many things, Hermosa Pier, Manhattan Pier, Trader Joes, Pavillions right across the street. Comfortable beds and fridge in the room. "

"I want to make it clear I enjoyed my stay at the Vurpillat. The room itself was lovely, spacious, and right next to the beach. I did however have a couple qualms about the management of the establishment. When we came to check in there was nobody at the front desk to check us in for the first 30 minutes. I was in contact with the person who eventually came, but I can't help but feel this was unacceptable. The hotel was also unlocked the entirety of the night and while the man at the front desk assured me the area was safe, when we went to check out at 8am there was a homeless woman sleeping in the lobby, mere feet away from our room. I saw some security there during daytime hours but there didn't seem to be anyone working overnight. I liked the aesthetics of the hotel and would recommend the room as the location was great and street parking was provided, just know what you're signing up for. "

"The hotel itself is in a great location. 4-5min drive away from some good eats. But regarding the property itself, the gym is very small. I don’t expect hotel gyms to be big or even adequate for a great workout but if there’s 3 people in there, it’s full. The cardio room is better and has around 8 machines. The shower in my room was probably one of the worst showers I’ve ever had in a hotel. Barely any water pressure, I had to literally bend down directly below the shower head to wash properly. I found a dirty cup behind the curtain that wasn’t picked up from the previous guest that used the room. For around $250 a night, I expected a better room but the views and location are nice"

"Great location near Hermosa Beach. If you take public transit, it can be challenging but lots of great food places nearby."

"Too expensive for the old hotel, the picture doesn’t match with reality. Dirty room, nasty bathroom. Everything disgusting, I stayed one night only because I can’t stand the smell of mold, dust hanging over the walls,rusting shower head,noise all night long I think from the plumbing pipes. Driving around I found other hotels better than that for the same price or less. "
