Beautiful location and view for the price but the outside of the windows were filthy. Liked the heritage building but the units need major upgrades. Plumbing and appliances in poor condition. The biggest concern though is there's only a couple parking spaces onsite. They give you a permit for street parking but finding a suitable spot nearby is very difficult in Hermosa Beach. I incurred a very expensive tkt/tow/storage charge of $750US because of a poorly marked construction zone. You also need to be aware of their street sweeping schedule. Couldn't find any heat or A/C controls in the unit but neither was needed during my stay.

I have paid $20 extra to get a room with a view. Those windows closed but still had a 1/2 inch crack letting in rain and wind . As a solo traveler it also didn’t feel safe being with such a gap in the window and on the first floor. There’s an oven but there are no fire alarms or sprinklers in the room. The table and rug were dirty. The shower clogged and filled up past my ankles. No heater. Wasn’t informed about parking that they offer even though he knew I drove in and got a $100 ticket. The man overall was nice but really weird and the fact he didn’t mention parking was free because he was frazzled when checking me in sucks. Also the room with the view is next to the check in desk and you can hear everything . This is also a hotel combined with an apartment and the paint in and outside the room was old and chipping.

We had a wonderful beach view. The windows were older so they were difficult to open and close but great to have the beach breeze blowing through. We were glad to have keyless entry to the room so we didn’t have to worry about them at the beach. They allowed dogs which is always a bonus for us.

I’m in love! The old building vibe is everything I needed for my weekend get away. The bed is comfy, and the view gave me life! We walked to everything we needed and watched the sunset right outside our hotel. If you want a beautiful get away spot THIS IS IT. We will definitely come back!

Vurpillat is wonderful. The rooms are great, alway clean, spotless and comfortable. The location is close to so many restaurants, bars and obviously the beach is right out your window as it is on the strand!! The owner and staff are excellent. It is my favority place to stay when in Southern California.

Property is right on the beach. The rooms are clean but if you're a light sleeper, probably not the best fit. The building is old and you can hear the plumbing, toilets flushing, shower going and whatnot. This property is shared with long term tenants renting and short term rentals. . The long term tenants were nice.

I had a wonderful experience at The Vurpillat Beachfront Hotel. The location is absolutely perfect — right on the beach with beautiful ocean views and easy access to everything nearby. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and watching the sunset from the property was definitely a highlight. Overall, a great place for anyone looking for a peaceful beachfront getaway. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Staff was courteous, but communicated by text and phone. No Kleenex, no sugar or creamer in room of second and third night. First night toilet malfunction. Requested room change and were given an upgrade.

Owner was very accommodating! Loved our boutique experience. Room says accommodations for 6 but only two beds. We were expecting cots for the extra beds but they were actually comfortable fold out mattresses. Can't wait to come back. Location is perfect!

Jay upgraded our room with a great rate. My friend adopted two Huskies and we were traveling home with them. Fantastic location right on the beach. Extremely clean and charming old hotel. We even got a parking spot steps from the door. Highly recommend and would stay there again!!
