「Situated in a lovely area of the Sussex Downs this small country pub provided ideal accommodation for our visit to Glyndbourne. Clean, simple but well appointed accommodation, with a good breakfast provided in the morning. Long Man Best Ale in cask available at the bar, which was a treat.」

「Service from all staff members was excellent. Quality of meals including breakfast could not be faulted.」

「For what I needed, a quick stopover, it did the job but there were a few things that could have been done to improve the stay! The room (# 400) had an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke when I entered and not being a smoker it was very off putting. I opened both the bedroom and bathroom windows, put the fan on and went out for an hour. When I came back the smell wasn't quite as bad but as a non-smoker, it was still a strong smell. The room itself was a little tired with broken cupboard draws....

「Our room was newly-renovated with a lovely, large bathroom. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and the pub was excellent. Would definitely stay again!」

「Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. 」

「The basic room was functional with everything we needed. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and everything we needed was provided. There wasn’t any noise to disturb us and the check in instructions were very clear and easy to follow. All in all a good stay.」

「Very pleasantly surprised this is an absolute gem of a find. Easy access to Brighton by bus or car. Clean and comfortable rooms and great food. I’m a pescatarian so don’t eat meat so they are missing a trick with the Jamaican fayre as Mac & Cheese would have gone down well however great price and warm welcome and will come back again probably before the summer is finished.」

「The room was quite bad, severely stained carpet and yellow all over the washroom floor, an old dirty drawn on office chair that looked like someone dragged it in off the street. It’s a shame because the hotel looks like it could have been really nice if maintained better. The plus sides were the staff were very nice and the location right by the beachfront.」

「Decorating is very tired. Door handle not working. Requires key to lock door. Adequate products in room. Hard pillows. Bed was ok. TV remote not working despite changing batteries. Very good food and breakfast」

「Very spacious room, clean and comfortable. Need a shelf of some kind in shower for shower gel etc, made showering a bit tricky. Could also do with fans in room when hot weather. Building looking a bit tired but super location and clean. Would definitely stay again. Fridge in room was a bonus in the hot weather.」
