「The room was clean. It was definitely showing its age. The edges of the full length mirror were deteriorated from moisture. The cabinet for the kitchenette sink was broken. No microwave oven. Obviously removed. The sliding patio doors did not seal, creating wind noise that sounded like a hurricane outside.」

「The staff was rude we couldn’t get dinner reservations there were only a few places to eat! No transportation the hotel had roaches the elevators in the buildings did not work the bedding was stained and filthy!!!! It stinks I give it zero stars」

「It is a new construction, the room was amazing, really clean, with ocean view, the pool really nice. The only thing that it was a big minus is that the Wi-Fi wasn't working in our room, we notified the front desk clerk and went to our room to try to fix it but couldn't be fixed and in that area my phone didn't have good reception there, other than that it was great. 」

「Water park is separate but there was always courtesy vans waiting to move you around. Pool outside our balcony was very cool to relax. Waiter at Pizzas restaurant was amazing and waiter at Bikini bottoms (Gustavo) I believe that was he’s name was excellent. Food at all the restaurants was delicious. Grandson(5yrs) had a blast at water park and pool. Highly recommend if You got lil ones.」

「We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels.」

「This is the first all inclusive resort in Cancun area that I have felt pretty strongly that I wanted to return! We stayed in a beachfront Casita suite and it was fantastic. Gorgeous grounds. Amazing spa! And probably the two biggest game-changers are that this resort obviously hires very thoughtfully, and they hire incredible, high-quality staff. All service was superb. And the food was up a notch - thoughtful, more complex flavors and lots of authentic food. The only negative that I can...
