"I recently stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monterey and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the common areas to the guest spaces, everything felt fresh, organized, and welcoming. It’s clear the team takes pride in keeping the property in top condition. One of the highlights was the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the overall dining experience exceeded expectations. Great atmosphere, quality service, and dishes that were both well-prepared and memorable. Overall, this was a top-tier experience, and I would absolutely stay here again. "The place is overpriced and needs remodeling. They don’t clean the room unless you stay more than four days which I think is ridiculous given the rate they charge. The free breakfast bag is basically toxic sugar including a bottle of apple juice, muffin, and granola bar (not a good one). Coffee is free but mediocre."

"I opted for a cottage, and though the rate was higher than expected, it was cheaper than dozens of other options in the area of the weekend, and it was a cozy room with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom that was all in great condition. I really liked the parking situation as the spot was right in front of the room and spaced so that other cars couldn’t ding my brand new doors! The staff was super friendly and seem to be a family, and I will be staying here again!"

"So check in was set for 4pm and we had arrived a little before 3pm to try and check in. Front desk checked us in, but told us the room wouldn't be ready for a few hours due to cleaning taking too long. I asked when a good time to return would be and was just told a few hours. She allowed us to use the restroom in the office and we walked to Asilomar beach which was about 10 mins away and had a great time there. We got back maybe 4:30/5-ish and the room was cleaned so we just got our stuff and made ourselves at home. We stayed 2 nights and both nights were relatively quiet but we could definitely hear the upstairs neighbors the second night. Checkout was a little confusing as the office is only open at 8am and we were trying to get going at ~7:45am. No one was in there and no one answered the phone when I called. There wasn't a clear place to leave the key cards, so I slid them under the window. Other things were the conditioner dispenser in the shower was broken and held up with masking tape so it fell off several times during our stay and the fireplace didn't work at all. Overall, I would say if you're looking for a cheap stay in a good location and have pets staying with you, this is a good choice. If you're looking for something a bit more in terms of amenities you should maybe look elsewhere."
