"Our “cottage” was a bit run down but certainly habitable. If it were mine, I’d gut it and do a complete remodel. It needed it. Beds were comfy. Location was good. Less than a minute walk to the beach which was accessible from the property. If you don’t need luxury, then you’ll be fine here, but if you’re looking for a 4 or 5 star, this ain’t it."

"This room was across the beach road so there was no ocean view. It was just a short walk to the beach. Room was nice and seemed recently updated. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. The room was clean and had plenty of open space to move around.The staff were friendly and amazing. They welcomed pets with no pet fees. Would stay there again.Would recommend Mia's to everyone looking for a nice inexpensive hotel on OBX."

"Loved the breakfast, room was clean although a little beat up. Beach view was from the side window and not front view from a balcony. This is how the hotel was built. Over all, we would stay again. "

"Our stay at Surf Side Hotel was absolutely amazing! 5 stars without a doubt. The cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding — everything was spotless, fresh, and very comfortable. You can really tell they take pride in keeping the hotel in excellent condition. The beds were comfortable, and the entire room felt welcoming and relaxing for our family. The breakfast was excellent every morning, with very good variety and quality. It made starting the day so much easier, especially traveling with children. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Everyone treated us with kindness and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel facilities were also excellent. Everything was well maintained, clean, and family-friendly. We especially loved all the complimentary touches they offer in the lobby — it made the experience feel even more special. Our kids also loved the games and activities available for children, which made the stay even better for the whole family. Overall, everything was super amazing. This hotel made our trip to Outer Banks even more memorable, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!"

"Staff at desk were wonderful. The property is undergoing renovation and is obviously a work in progress. The room was comfortable, attractive, updated, ecologically sensitive, but did not have some of the amenities we have come to expect, like shower caps, hand and body lotion, etc."
