"Industrial area and limited sights in the area. The train museum is a mist see with kids. The rooms are large for Japanese standards and clean. Shower and tub room is generous sized. Our view was of the rear industrial area. The onset was nice touch. Separated by sexes. The breakfast buffet was pricey but we did try it for only 1 meal so kids can try traditional Japanese breakfast foods. They also had western offerings as well. It was nice to get some fresh veg and fruits as it is pricey at restaurants. The base of the hotel has a few premium priced restaurants and we did hit the 7-11 just outside the hotel for supplies"
Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto

"We stayed in several hotels throughout our two week Japan trip, and this hotel (and Kyoto in general) was by far our favorite. It is spotlessly clean and classy. The lofi-jazz playing in the hotel as well as the rooftop lounge was a nice touch. The breakfast every morning was wonderful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is walking distance to most of the Gion sites such as Yasaka Pagoda, Kiyomizu-dera Temple and a short taxi or subway ride from Yasaka Temple, Nishiki Market, Fushimi Inari (amazing) and so many other things to do. I would stay again at this hotel in a heartbeat! We’ll be back the next time we’re in Kyoto."
Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo

"Great hotel opposite Kyoto Station so very handy. Room was spacious which is unusual in Japan. Had a laundry room which was only ¥600 to use although we had to hang up clothes in room as it didn't dry them completely. Loads of good restaurants nearby in station (who would have thought) as well as combinis. Several shopping malls close by as well. Overall a good hotel and one I'd stay at again."
Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel

"The room was clean and quite large, much larger than the typical Japanese hotel room. We were on a high floor, and the view was beautiful. The breakfast buffet is fine but not that extensive. For us, the highlight was the front desk staff, which made several calls for us to work out an unexpected difficulty (we don't speak Japanese). They were absolutely fantastic. We can't thank them enough."

"Hotel is in a great location just a few steps from the Hachijo exit of Kyoto station. The room and bathroom was very clean. Good sized room. Breakfast offers a good choice of Japanese and western dishes. The breakfast area can get a little hectic but is well managed. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and kind."
