At first, reading the negative reviews for this property made me apprehensive about staying here. But there is more to this hotel than juat the convenience of location. First, the true negatives. The rooms are smaller, like what you would expect in Europe and Japan, but they do the job. Second, the pool is so horribly small and seating is inadequate. Our air conditioner worked, but was loud when the compressor kicked in. That's about it. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was very happy with my interactions with the front desk, the bellman who checked our bags and the also the cleaning staff. The lobby and mezzanine are very clean and spacious. Others complain that the rooms being worn and needing updating. That was not our experience. Wear was normal for any hotel and everything felt clean. The location is great for Central Park, the subway, and restaraunts. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.
