"When we arrived, we were not told about that there would be no running water. I had to use the bathroom and thereafter could not wash my hands. I did receive a text message later from the resort that the water was back on. The next day, we went jet skiing. Afterwards, we came back to the room and I went to take a shower. While I just put shampoo in my hair, the water pressure was reduced and thereafter turned off, again with no notice that the water would be turned off. So my husband had to go buy bottled water so that I can at least rinse the shampoo out of my hair. Although staff was friendly, there is no communication with guests. This was also our honeymoon and was a disruption. For the amount of money they charge to stay there, I would expect running water and communication when water would be turned off and on. Unfortunately, I will not stay at this resort ever again. "

"The location is great if you’re looking to bar hop in Old Town however, location is the only real positive. Everything outside of the main house is run down. The pool deck and stairs are full of uneven boards, our room had an ant infestation, crumbs/dirt/food left on the table, the sheets were dirty, the shower was full of mold, the walls were stained and smeared with mystery substances, my gosh even the blow dryer was too disgusting to use…. The property managers were easy to contact but couldn’t really do anything to make our stay better (I think all the rooms are in the same condition). There is a communal washer and dryer, ice, filtered water, plenty of towels (seemed clean) , and they provide shampoo, soap, body wash, body lotion, and conditioner. You pay for a place to sleep and I truly could not because of how disgusted I was….. 0/10 recommend…. There are MUCH better options, for the same price!"

"Unfortunately, we barely slept at night. The AC was old and very loud, so we eventually had to turn it off completely. Then the refrigerator started making noise, so we had to unplug it as well. On top of that, there was a constant machine sound from outside, probably from a neighboring AC or refrigerator that I could hear from our room. The pool restrooms were also not well maintained. The location, however, was great, we really loved it. The staff tried to be helpful, which we appreciated. "

"Hotel was great, staff was amazing and seemed happy to be there (in a not fake way) and the location cannot be beat. We split out time in the keys between here and a resort near Marathon and we wished we had just stayed here at the Marker the entire time. The other pricier resort seemed like a huge downgrade from the Marker!"

"The smell in the lobby is overwhelming. Such a heavy perfume if I could have found a room elsewhere, I would have. Fortunately, the smell was not as bad on the fourth floor, but you could still smell it in the room. The pool hours are unreasonable. For a hotel that has had a massive renovation there should not be peeling paint and dangling dry drywall in the hallways The power went out, and there was no ambient emergency lighting. I’ve reported them to the fire marshal as this is a serious violation that could cause serious injury if someone had to make their way to a stairwell and exit. I did exit and upon arrival back to the hotel. No hotel employee could tell me where interior stairs were to get back up to my room. I will also be filing a complaint with the legal department for Marriott. They are lucky it was just a power outage with no reason to evacuate as people could have been seriously injured attempting to evacuate in pitch blackness with no lit exit signs or ambient emergency, lighting in hallways or stairwells. I will never stay here again. Never have I been so disappointed and disgusted with a property."
