「Detroit is full of beautiful old buildings and this is a great one, run by the same woman who worked on its renovation. I stayed in the Dahlia room, which has a jacuzzi and lovely fireplace. The bed was extremely comfortable. Morning coffee is served in a gorgeous parlor and solarium, and the proprietors are very attentive and helpful. 」

「The Cochrane Inn is run by a pair of wonderful sisters, Rica and Winky. I arrived at the Inn way ahead of the check-in time and was exhausted due to the longhaul flight. They offered me complimentary breakfast and accompanied me while I was waiting in the lobby. The room was clean and comfortable. This was my first time being able to fall asleep on a hotel bed without the help of melatonin pills! The Cochrane Inn is truly a magical house to me!  Thank you for the awesome stay once again, Rica...

「Booked through Expedia obviously. The hotel took the portion that was supposed to be taken from Expedia taken from my credit card used for incidentals at check in. Still trying to get ahold of element hotel to get my money back. So basically paid for hotel twice.」

「Property was charming and quirky. Room was not ready at check-in time and noticed the same for others trying to check-in. Staff kindly held our bags while we went off site. They said they called when ready but had no call come in. Bed was comfy but low. Minimal furnishings but staff brought a side table and mini fridge to our room. Also replaced non-working hairdryer at our request. Lighting throughout property was dim. Location was great. No coffee for guests but for sale in the lobby...

「Right in the heart of downtown Detroit. Close to everything. City is doing a ton of improvements to the area and it’s definitely in transition in a good way. Nice kitchen and unique rooms with a beautiful view. Will stay again next time I’m in the city.」
