"More of an air b&b situation with a self check in. Fabulous for self sufficient people. The hosts left notes, a list of local restaurants, and a number to text if we needed things.
Clean and kitchy, like staying at your grandparents place. Very cozy and comfy. We hope to come back. "
"What a fun and unique place! From the treehouse cabins to the bridges, swing, and zip lines. The natural pool was amazing as well. Oh, and the breakfast!!! Homemade fresh quiche, cheesy potato pie, fresh baked breads, pastries, and eggs. The BEST continental breakfast I have ever seen!!"

Towering redwoods meet the Pacific at this northern coastal gem, home to the historic Battery Point Lighthouse. Explore tide pools during low tide, then drive through Redwood National Park where rangers know which trails offer the best wildlife spotting.
The city is an older coastal city that seems to be on the rebound. Lots of new shopping and restaurants. Great location on the northern California coast. Super beaches.

Plenty to see other than the redwoods. Walk across the street to see sea lions and check out pebble beach at low tide for rocks and tide pools.

It's very small, but surprisingly full of necessary amenities and stores. The dock/waterfront areas are very well-maintained. You will have to get accustomed to the round-the-clock harbor fog horn.

Crescent city was a small town with lots of motels and some options for eating. Several restaurants we tried were not open past 630 or 7 PM, though. We were there for Fourth of July and they have a nice fireworks display at the beach.

Jump-off to the Redwoods is the primary reason to be here. The town looks a bit run-down, but there are some up and coming restaurants that showed some hope.
"Pros: the room was very clean and updated. We had an ocean view, and couple min walk to beach playing. Quiet and relaxing.
cons: the grab and go breakfast was a little boring but my kids enjoyed it. "
"The restaurant down the street was amazing (The good Harvest Cafe ) clam chowder was top notch . Walmart is close by , and get gas at the casino down from the cafe . ( cheapest ) Bed was a bit on the hard side but I liked it . Convenient parking in front of your room , we asked for a first floor ,handicapped parking access .Page was so nice at the front desk . "
"I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were. It is definitely one of those older stucco motel buildings, so I was a little leary about booking a room there. But the rooms are really, really, nice.

"Such a beautiful place to stay in Crescent City California. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodated all of our needs. The kids loved swimming in the indoor heated pool and taking a walk on the beach. The sunset from the room was amazing. I was worried about the reviews I read on hotels.com but we had a really good experience. There was 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children. The room was just right and we felt very comfortable. My son is special needs and we worried about safety with the balcony, but the door had a screw at the bottom that secures the slider. The only thing we couldn’t get to work was the jets in our tub but other than that, it was a great stay. Thank you Oceanfront Lodge. Hope to see you all soon! "
