"Grounds are way more beautiful and lush than the pictures show. Pool area has cool and warm and hot pools. AC in the room was nice and cold. Excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower. Front desk helped us contact the rafting and chocolate activities we did. Location is 5 minute walk from the El Salto rope swing. A few minutes driving to get to the center of La Fortuna. Close to everything but just off the main road so very quiet - you don't hear any traffic - just the birdsong. There is also a rushing waterfall and river on the back of the property that made a beautiful soothing background noise. There is no closet/hangers or way to hang up wet things (or towels) unless you bring your own hooks/clothesline, which we did. Brought simple plastic over-the-door hooks which were lifesavers. Put the clothesline outside but nothing really dries unless it is in the direct blazing sun or inside away from the humidity. "

"It was a nice and clean room. And a nice hot tub we did use privately. We book a transfer from airports, and two tours. It was perfect. They take care of us very well. "

"The Hotel del Rio was absolutely amazing. The staff was super helpful in all regards from event planning to dining to recommendations on sights to see etc. The rooms were very clean and modern. Every morning they asked about whether we wanted service or not. The on site amenities were very diverse from sports to spas. Even our kids did not get bored. Lots of trails for walking. The rooms were very private as well, I am not sure I saw or heard another guest except for at the restaurant. Would recommend to anyone and would stay there again if in the area. One of the best places we have stayed on vacation. "

"Great location. Beautiful tropical gardens and view to the mountains. Quite, yet only 15 min walk to a small settlement with restaurants (on a pavement). There is a corner shop 150m away and a lovely little soda/restaurant less then 200m away."

"This is a unique property, with direct access to a river running along the property which is accessible to swim in, the views from the cabins are spectacular with mountain and natural jungle views with amazing bird and plants/flowers. Had howling monkeys directly in front of my cabin. Can't recommend this property enough, just awesome "

"This home was exactly what we needed, close to downtown La Fortuna yet away from the noise. The house has 2 bedrooms with doble beds and TV’s and one loft with 2 twin beds. The bathroom has hot/cold water and the host provides shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, a cooktop as well as the basics you need to make meals if you choose to cook. The washer and dryer were very convenient. Towels and bed linens are nice, beds comfortable, cozy living area with TV and lovely patio with greenery all around where you get to see wildlife as well. It felt very private yet very close to everything, about 5 minute drive to restaurants and stores. The host was very responsive and self check in a breeze. Internet worked great. We highly recommend Villa Escondida. "
