We were here for nearly two weeks, which is a bit longer than the average people tend to stay in one place in Costa Rica. We were made to feel right at home. I can't praise the staff highly enough, particularly the restaurant staff. They really go out of their way to get to know you and make you feel welcome.
The place itself is pretty close to La Fortuna, but it feels isolated and quiet. There isn't a gym or spa on site, but there's plenty to do anyway. We got one of the rooms with a hot tub, which was great to have after so many long days of hiking. There's also a cool little walking trail on the property that has sloths in it, but we didn't manage to see one during our stay. There's a good restaurant on site, but it takes about 20-30 minutes to walk into town for more options. The road is very dark at night, though, so I'd recommend driving if you have your own car.
We did have an issue with our hot water supply towards the end of our stay, but it was dealt with promptly. There was also a fair amount of construction going on, which wasn't a huge problem considering we were gone during most days. Can't hold anything against the hotel.
All in all, it was great value for money and a wonderful place to use as a base for our trip. We would definitely consider staying again.
