We really liked the stay here. It had a great view and location right in town. The restaurant on site was very convenient with included breakfast each morning. They even arranged an early breakfast for us one morning as we had a tour leaving earlier than the opening time. Food was average, didn't wow me but did the job. We stayed in cabin 3 and it had a sewage smell from the minute we walked in that never left. We didn't experience this at our other lodgings in Monteverde or Manuel Antonio, so not sure if it was just the sewage system in this area or what. (No it was not the soiled toilet paper in the garbage. When we arrived the room was clean and still smelled like farts/gas/sewage gas). We also didn't care for the way the door to the cabin locked. It was a sliding door with a key that was very flimsy. Would have been easy to break in if someone wanted. We also found it a bit difficult to open up the door... seemed to always be wrestling with it. Overall, we liked it but there were a few things they could improve.

We loved having our own little cabin separate from the others. It was very comfortable and clean. We also enjoyed hanging out on the front porch and watching the birds and even an aguti in the trees and bushes on the property.

The rooms were nice and cozy own privacy as the rooms were seperated from other guests rooms. The staff was wonderful and very attentive in room upkeep as well as recommending activities to do. You also, get to see wildlife nearby which makes it more relaxing. Overall great experience!

Nice comfortable clean rooms. Beautiful setting. It sits back about 100 meters from the road. Nice pool, looks like they are building another pool. Good basic breakfast. Shops and restaurants nearby. I was very happy. Water from shower alternated from hot to cool, then back to hot like every 30 seconds. Worked ok for me. Yes I'd stay they again

The location is very good with amazing view. The bedrooms are big. The only issue in the apartment and may be in the Condo, the water pressure is very low. So it is impacting both toilet and shower.

Our stay at Hotel Volcan Verde was absolutely incredible!! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had discovered a peaceful little paradise tucked into nature. The bungalows were so nice, cozy, and thoughtfully designed — clean, comfortable, and perfectly nestled among the greenery. Waking up each morning surrounded by the sounds of nature made it feel relaxing and private, like our own little retreat away from everything. What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was Gabriel. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home from day one. He took the time to share great recommendations for local restaurants and attractions, helped us plan activities around town, and genuinely cared that we had the best experience possible. His kindness and hospitality made our stay so memorable and special. This place has the perfect balance of comfort, charm, and warm service. We honestly can’t wait to come back again as a family. If you’re looking for a cozy, welcoming stay with a personal touch, this is it. Highly recommend!

The room was ok but the hot water was intermittent in the sink, the glasses and cups when we arrived were not very clean, and the Expedia website said there would be an in-room coffee maker, but there wasn't one. The lighting in the room and the shower was very dim. We did not find the breakfast service very good either. Although the grounds were pretty, and the rooms were set back quite a bit from the road there was still road noise, even at night. Still, the staff was incredibly nice, the beds were comfy and the pool looked gorgeous. We enjoyed the blooming plants and birdsong.

The location is great. It has a on site restaurant and a swimming pool. The food is delicious with local and fresh material. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is clean and spacious, but some noise over the roof, maybe some small animals there. The garden is amazing with beautiful views, a lot of tropical plants.

Overall good stay. We were 4 people and room was large enough. The nice thing is about private cottages and parking in front of your room. The internal room design could have been better. Just outside of la Fortuna town center, about 2 km but walkable to one super market and pharmacy.

We had no hot water one morning we woke up. Yes, they fixed it later on in the day, but the inconvenience of having to find someone to report the issue was unpleasant. There is rarely ever anyone at the from desk. Plus, we had a tour scheduled that morning that we ended up missing because of that. The breakfast was far from good. The same menu every morning to pick from: either American (2 eggs, 1 bacon strip, and a toast); traditional (2 eggs, rice and beans, and a quarter of plantain), or pancakes. As a result, we left a day early. They couldn’t care less when we told them about it. I wouldn’t waste my money on this property.
