「Lovely old building. Excellent service」

「The Grand Hotel in Torquay has an excellent position when travelling without a car. The hotel is a minute away from Torquay station on one side, four minutes at the back (which means disability access to both train platforms). The beach is right across the road. The bus stops are in front of the hotel, going to the port and central town. My room was much more spacious than I expected, with a sea view, very comfortable, twin beds, tea, impeccable sheets and towels. Tea bags, hot chocolate and...

「Great stay. Wheelchair access good except for harbour entrance. The tank trap trench, filled with pebbles, in a corridor??? Just brilliant for catching your power chair. Had to get guests to help me out.」

「Lovely hotel and staff..close level walk to the seafront and theatre. Newly decorated room with comfortable bed... Tv could be better on opposite wall as it could be knockekd where its situated.. Parking can be reserved and booked for £10 which is worthwhile.」

「Had a lovely stay at the property, the swimming pool was excellent. View from the hotel was beautiful looking out over the water. Was in a convenient place, just a short walk to the pier and shops 」

「Beautiful but the air conditioning was not great. It was a sunny weekend and it was just not cool enough unfortunately. Made for a difficult sleep.」

「It’s a big old hotel , it has its faults , but my room had a comfy bed , a good modern tv , and a good hot shower , and the reception were nice people , all for £33 for the night ! No complaints here . 」

「The entertainment at night and the dsco are really amazing and also with the spa and gym are great.i just dont like the lift because it's too small and it took so long by waiting. But, some staff are nice and some are mean.but, i still enjoyed it more specifically the entertainment and the disco at night and the SPA & Gym. 」

「A great place to stay when you are in Devon. A very clean and welcoming place. A brilliant location for anyone to stay in Paignton only 2 minutes walk to the sea front and a 3 minute walk to the town centre all on the flat. The staff are friendly and very helpful the breakfast is very good. The room is clean and comfortable. And made up every day.」

「Excellent hotel in many ways & very welcoming to our 2 dogs. However the property itself needs some tlc on the exterior - a lot of moss & the white paint is peeling. It is still grand on the promenade & have to say the food is wonderful. Would definitely stay here again & recommend you try it. 」

「The hotel is a lovely place, the staff was friendly and very helpful. On the days when we stayed the unique bad things we encountered were noise guesses in the room next door, so we couldn't really rest as we expected but apart from that attention at the hotel in great! 」

「Room was ok needs updating, sink taps need attention, cracks in sink and shower tray, but they didn't leak so that was good, perhaps they will get round to it as it looks like there doing bits to hotel.」
