"The AC worked well - trust me - in August in Rome - you need that. The location was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was good. Would stay here again. The location is the best thing about this hotel - also Julius Caesar was assassinated across the street at the ruin Largo di Torre Argentina - within that area, there was the Theatre of Pompey. Caesar was actually killed in the Curia of Pompey, the meeting house attached to the theater. Pretty cool right!!"

8/10 Good
"The hotel was very nice. Next to a lot of restaurants and the bus and railroad. The reason for my review is the front desk staff. Sebastian at the front desk ordered a taxi for us. The first thing that we noticed when we were about to get into the taxi is that the meter was set for a start amount of 11 euros. We went to the front desk to tell him, and him and that taxi driver spoke in Italian negotiating a price. The taxi driver said that it was 15-20 euros away. We went 1-2 miles. The minimum ride costs 9 euros. This was the average that we have been paying. Next the girl with the red curly hair and glasses called a taxi for us. The taxi driver charged us 180 euros. It says right on the door, 155 euros. Beware, the front desk works deals with the taxi drivers."

Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo

"This hotel is lovely and central for getting to all of the main sites. We had a twin room which was very small but adequate for a long weekend stay. The rooftop pool, although small and only 1m deep is perfect for relaxing with a drink and you really are within view of the Coloseum (originally I thought the picture might be AI but the view is amazing). Breakfast was average but all of the staff are really helpful and friendly. We had a lovely stay, thank you very much."
