"Lovely inn. Beautiful setting. Room was spacious but bathroom a little small in our room 36. Overall our stay was very good & food & breakfast options really good. Very friendly staff 😀"
"Absolutely fantastic location with beautiful relaxing views: we will stay here again. Hosts were super helpful and gave us some great recommendetions. "
"My sister and I spent just a couple of nights here and truly fell in love with the house and staff. Every interaction was easy and kind, the house was incredibly well kept, and the grounds were gorgeous. It's located a bit out of the way which is perfect for minimizing crowds and noise! Our room was perfectly sized and the bed/bedding comfortable. All in all, a 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone in any stage of life."

A lively bustling town with a lot of B&B accommodation meaning lots of people looking for places for dinner. Wise to book. Lots of outdoor wear shops and a good array of other little shops and cafes to peruse.

Can be very busy, narrow pavements but good buses to get you to Windermere, Kendal or Keswick. Can recommend the Apple Pie, the Flying Fleece but plenty of places to eat out. Good walk to Grasmere via Rydal Water.

My favourite place to stay in the lakes. Less touristy than Bowness-on-Windermere but has lovely walks and is a beautiful area.

Parking is a premium in Ambleside keep an eye on the roads as paths are small and could easily be knocked over onto road. Lots of little shops and well known stores. Make sure you support the little shops. E.g. The old bridge house fudge shop

Ambleside for me isn't somewhere I could spend all day in because it's quite small, we did eat out there though and we caught the bus to Windemere, it's only £2 per person so it wasn't worth moving the car.

lovely area Ambleside. loads to do and plenty of shops and restaurant's. Really nice and peaceful place. Been a few times now, will call again. Paul and Jane from Wrexham.
"Our stay at Ivy House was very nice. However I will not be using Expedia again. Expedia clearly stated that we would pay at the property, then shortly after booking asked us to pay 50% deposit, which after checking with the property was not required. Then 24 hours before arrival Expedia took the full amount from our account.
I will not deal with companies that behave in this manner. If you agree do not deal with Expedia. "
"Hotel as described. 10 minutes walk into Grasmere. Free parking, although I doubt enough if hotel at capacity. Bus stop outside. Breakfast was nice & plenty of options. We had dinner one evening and it was good & good value.
Dog friendly, in fact Luna felt bery welcome!
We decline one days room clean in exchange for a couple of free drinks, that was a nice idea and encoraged reuse of towels etc
All in all great stay"
"A really nice, friendly pub in the village of Hawkshead. The room was good with an excellent bed and the food was amazing. We’d definitely be up for returning. "
