Right along the coast, walking path all along the ocean, Children's Pool and other great locales right there - easy to see the seals and sea lions, palm trees galore, and easy to walk into town (within minutes). Eric greeted us when we arrived and was super welcoming, gave us the choice of two rooms. "A really nice hotel in an excellent location. The rooms are quite large and nice, but a bit dated. The bathrooms are updated and roomy as well. Great restaurant/bar in the lobby. The food and service were great. The doormen, restaurant servers and managers were great. Front desk and housekeeping were efficient, but not overly welcoming. Nice pool area too."

The only downsides for me personally were the absence of a safe in the room and the lack of a kettle. However, complimentary tea and coffee were available 24 hours a day on the ground floor by the pool, and hot water machines were conveniently located on each floor."

"Gorgeous, old world charm. Closest you can get to European feeling in the US. Note the building is old so noticed a musty smell in the room and the elevator is old and tiny. Beds were comfortable, and pool area is heavenly. Staff and service were 5-star. Dining was overpriced but the views were lovely. Would absolutely stay again. "
