"This was a very unique experience. The lodging was a shipping container and we went to sleep to the sound of coqui frogs and woke up to roosters crowing. The hosts were so personable and the breakfast was amazing, probably the best we had during our entire visit to the island. They have a friendly, but excitable dog. "It’s a little bit of a drive from the San Juan airport but worth it. I will be finding excuses to visit Puerto Rico just so I can stay at the Serene House again!"

"The property is amazing with great views and unique experience up in the rainforest. It is secluded and provides an eco experience. The roads up to the lodging are a little more challenging but we had a 4x4 vehicle and made it even with heavy rain. The hotel is currently partially under renovations but the host is very nice and try to ensure an enjoyable experience. Don't go into it thinking its a 5 star resort but rather an off-the-beaten-path experience."

Sea Gate Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Wow, we had a great experience at Sea Gate Inn. The owner was very responsive to my messages and helped me figure out the ferry, getting a taxi, and scheduling a horse back riding tour. When we arrived she was waiting on us at the gate. We got there around 9:30 AM, way before our check in time. We were going to leave our bags in the lobby, but our room was already prepared so we got to check in early! We were given a map of the island and told where all the beaches and restaurants were, which was very helpful. This hotel has a really pretty landscape! I would definitely recommend to book here!!"
