"Only negative: I saw something on top of the wardrobe and tried to brush it off, and it turned out to be a screw point sticking out of the wood! It cut my finger tip, though it didn’t bleed a lot. I showed a photo to the front desk attendant and he apologized and brought me a bandaid. He said he would fix it, but nothing was done."

"Stains on all the sheets the room I was in, refrigerator was dirty, rusty, and had an odor in the inside, the air conditioner didn’t work really. Blew out warm cool air. So the room stayed warm all day and night, still had trash behind the bed that I guess was missed by the cleaning crew. Trash in the hallway on the floor I was on. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel until they do some heavy cleaning, upgrading and remodeling. Also it’s a pet friendly hotel. And you could tell it was cause the hotel smelled like dogs and cats."

"I want to give it a lower rating but there was a bed, a working shower and a decent breakfast. Sadly the place does seem to be falling apart, from cracks in the ceilings, slow elevators, smell of smoke everywhere (despite it saying they enforce the no smoking policy) and some broken locks on the inside. We required additional blankets and pillows, I called the front desk (guessed the number as it was not listed on the in room phone) and was told to come to the lobby to pick up the blankets but that the pillows will be delivered to me. Why I couldn’t just pick up both or have both delivered is a mystery to me. The biggest issue was the parking situation. I was expecting to pay for parking on the property but there was quite the limited parking and was told we had to go park in the overflow lot. That lot being a public parking facility which is dimly lit, and does not appear to be very secure (fortunately nothing happened). After parking you have to go through what looks like an alleyway basically and then cross the street to the hotel. Had I know the parking situation exactly I would not have booked here."

"First of all, if you’re gonna charge regular price, then you should make sure you’re not under construction for a refresh . At the very least, let your client know hey you’re gonna get this rate but it’s because we have gutted the lobby in the breakfast area so there really isn’t a breakfast. The coffee station was horrible. There’s one cup. It wasn’t maintained. It was dirty if I had known that I would’ve gone to the Hilton app got the Embassy suites for $130 instead of the $120 I paid for a nasty, not up to my standards Hampton Inn at all . I know they are trying fix it back up, I didn’t know with open doors everywhere etc what would come around corner. Never going back to that location."

"This hotel was a disappointment. We chose it for the location and while the location was as we expected we could only exit the hotel by going one direction on highway 280 so we often had to exit the highway and go under it to get going the right direction. My main gripe with the service was housekeeping or lack thereof. We were told that housekeeping only came every three days but if we needed towels or garbage taken out to ask at the desk. That seemed kind of cheap but what are you going to do at this point. On our third day (of a four day stay) we were supposed to get housekeeping. After being out most of the day and returning after 2pm we had had no housekeeping. When we asked at the desk first we were told we wouldn't get housekeeping until the next day (our checkout day) and then when she checked she said that we would. I asked her if we could go ahead and have our room cleaned in the next hour or so while we went to the pool. Her response stunned me as she said that they went in order by the rooms starting at one end of the hall and wouldn't go out of order. So if you like to have your room cleaned and to get fresh towels don't stay here. The hotel seems new but there were things that weren't well thought out, like the location of the pool. By afternoon it was entirely in shade. The shower was a bit strange and the bathroom fixtures were cheap. Breakfast was good but the orange juice machine was broken. For the money in Birmingham, I wouldn't stay here again."

"when I first checked in the microwave & fridge wasn’t clean so I had to clean it up. The room wasn’t bad at. Breakfast was from 6-8:30 which I thought ended early. Everything was going good up until i checked out on 6/1 which was my bday. I woke up & got breakfast. After that I took a nap & got up at 9 am. Checkout is not until 11 am. A younger guy knocked on my door I’m guessing to start cleaning but I told him I wasn’t done with the room yet and he said ok. So around 10 something I started taking my stuff down to my car. I came back and the younger guy was at the other end of the hall in another room. Okay cool. I made another trip downstairs to carry more of my belongings but I left my purse which had my MacBook in it and my leftover bbq I had from the day before left in the room because I was going to get that last. I came back to my room open. The younger guy was in the room across from mine but another guy was in my room going through my stuff. He was on my MacBook. I asked him what he was doing& he said he thought it was trash. How could you think a purse and computer was trash. So he said checkout is at 11 and I said I know it’s only 10:47 so I still had time. So I said lemme make sure I still have everything in my purse because I don’t trust him. I threw my food away because he went through that and I wasn’t about to eat that. When I left out he asked was I missing anything. I told the lady at the front & ig this not his 1st time. DONT stay here b/c Idk if he’s fired"
