"This stay was highly incredible. We decided to treat ourselves on this stay, and it was definitely amazing. From the views, the relaxation you gain, the comfort of the bed and tatami mats, and of course the baths. The staff is also extremely attentive and kind. We loved our stay and wish we couldve stayed even longer!"

"Loved the big spacious room with a Mountain View and a really nice sauna in the room. The onsen was lovely and the massage chairs were awesome. It was a 20 min walk to town but not too bad as we could cut through a lower hotel to avoid the steep part."

"My friend and I stayed in a private tatami room. The view of the mountains, trees, and a little bit of the town below was beautiful. The room was clean and quiet. The futon were a little thin (I have slept on many as I live in Japan), and both my friend and I had poor sleep because of it. The downstairs common areas are also very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and explained the space clearly. In the onsen, there wasn't a clear or large enough sign that you need to clean yourself before entering the bath. Unfortunately, this meant that guests who were unfamiliar with the custom entered the bath unwashed. The bath water was quite dirty. This could easily be fixed with a few large signs and explanation during the tour. The shower rooms were very clean. "

"Absolutely stunning hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and extremely attentive. They represent the hotel very well. We stayed in one of the rooms with a private onsen and the view of the mountains and the river below was wonderful, very peaceful. The room included in room dinner and breakfast service and this was such an amazing treat. Our guest assistant was excellent, she seemed to be so happy and enthusiastic to serve all the time. At one point, I had been playing with the coffee machine, trying to rescue a pod that didn't quite work and she noticed me doing this even while she was clearing up breakfast and came and made me a coffee completely on her own initiative. The food was so delicious and fresh and beautifully presented. In everything we felt thoroughly spoilt. It was a wonderful 2 night stay."

"This place is easily the best place we stayed at during our Japan trip, and possibly the best overall experience I've had in a one-night stay ever. You have your own onsen in the room, along with two private onsens in the hotel (free, no reservations required to use). The traditional room is large for Japanese hotel standards, the hotel is a 15-minute walk to Hakone station, and the staff have mind-blowing hospitality! Highly recommend"
