Park Plaza London Riverbank

10/10 Excellent

"The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, and the room was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the hotel’s fragrance, particularly in the entrance and common areas, was extremely overpowering at times. The strong scent affected my allergies and caused headaches and nausea, which made parts of the stay uncomfortable. While I appreciated the excellent service from the staff and the cleanliness of the room, I would strongly encourage the hotel to reconsider the intensity of its fragrances, as they may be problematic for guests with allergies or sensitivities to strong scents. A more subtle or fragrance-free environment would make the hotel much more comfortable and welcoming for everyone."

a&o London Docklands Riverside

10/10 Excellent

"My stay at a&o Rotherhithe Docklands was truly exceptional for such an excellent price (~$120 USD/night). The property is expansive but the setup and the fantastic staff make it feel cozy and personal. The location right on the Thames is a great bonus and my room directly overlooked the river, which I greatly appreciated. The ferry across the river to Canary Wharf was so convenient and the Thames Path allows one to walk along the water as far as you like. The room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. The only tiny issue was that there was no outlet in the bathroom. The free breakfast offerings are many and diverse, including all the makings of a proper English breakfast. The bar includes a large seating area where guests of all persuasions gather nightly -- live music on Thursday nights! All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay--I didn't want to leave!--and I highly recommend a&o Rotherhithe Docklands."

Marlin Apartments London Bridge - Empire Square

8/10 Good

"The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we booked right up to when we left. The flat had everything we needed and was in a a quiet area. The photo's on the website were a bit misleading (although I realise there were different prices of room displayed) . The amount we paid for one night would equal a luxury stay anywhere else, what we got was basic but adequate, that's London prices for you I guess. . We did appreciate being upgraded last minute to a slightly larger apartment. Overall the flat was a decent standard and provided everything we needed."

Marlin Waterloo

8/10 Good

"The location is the best thing about the property. It is 5-10 min walk away from the underground station and has many subway lines that you can take. The property is modern and next to a Pret for a quick coffee in the morning and a short walk to many nice restaurants. When we arrived, check in was fast but when we got to our room, I was disappointed that I did not get the king bedroom that I reserved. Upon speaking with the front desk, I was told that the king beds in London are smaller than in other countries. I am from Canada and saw the photos, the king size bed was huge. I insisted that there was an error made and was eventually told that I was 'upgraded' to a room with a kitchenette but a smaller bed. Sorry, that is hardly an upgrade. If I wanted a kitchen, I would have booked that room. You should have asked me before making the change. No apologies from anyone for the error. Not impressed. We were rushed to get changed for a show and we lost 30 min from this error. Rooms are cleaned every second day so with our three night stay, we didn't mind. Only problem was the cleaner left a dirty rag on the night table. I've stayed all over the world in many different hotels and this has never happened. Lastly, every morning at 9am, someone knocked on our door. First morning, they had to change the shower head due to mold. Second day, the cleaner knocked. Bed wasn't bad but the pillows were standard pillows for a king bed. Overall, it was okay but I may not stay here again."

The Clarendon Hotel - Blackheath

10/10 Excellent

"Very enjoyable one night stay, for the price it was all I could have expected. Had an excellent dinner in the restaurant, and breakfast as part of the price made for a good overall impression. There is probably a need for renovation in places but the room was clean and had everything I needed. I would return again if I was in the area, parking was tight, mainly due to the way others had arranged their vehicles."
