"Very convenient hotel and restaurant at Newbury race course "

"Lovely building, rooms and excellent service from staff. Spa good, but disappointed due to odorous water in outside hot tubs and excessive amount of foam and scum in the indoor hydro pool which put us off using the spa facilities due to concerns of cleanliness. A shame as everything else about our stay was exceptional. Complimentary room upgrade was appreciated although the shower tray was very slow to drain. The pantry room is a great idea and had a good selection of drinks and snacks to choose from. Walks suggested in the handy book in our room were well enjoyed. The Brasserie restaurant was excellent with a good menu and service was second to none - everyone was friendly and nothing was too much to ask. (N.B. Spa cleanliness was raised with reception at checkout)"

"Nice hotel, only issue was noise from generator/pump Whilst in room 148 which stopped at 11.30pm, apart from the noise the room was large with balcony and clean."

"Check in staff excellent & lobby with Starbucks & pub very useful indeed. Room comfortable & clean with a nice view. UF there was a negative, it would be the window frames which had not been cleaned ever & were dusty to the point of mould. However, this did not detract from an overall great stay. "

"the Gray Manor Hotel and Wedding Venue: We got our room and after going into the room finding out the cleaners had not been in there. All the bed sheets and pillows were stained and there was hair all over the place. I went back to the reception to complain, and a man came out in his bathrobe with no shoes on and his chest hanging out; he had clearly just gotten out of bed. He eventually gave me another room, but this one was just as bad, with lipstick stains all over the headboard and a filthy bathroom. The rest of the night was an absolute disaster. There was a huge vibration noise coming from the taps and a constant beeping noise coming from the hallway that made it impossible to sleep. This place was a total nightmare and definitely not what you would expect from a hotel and wedding venue. I would not recommend staying here."

"Hotel was lovely, the rooms were a good size, modern and clean. The staff were really nice and hotel is very child friendly. Our room was ready for check in as soon as we got there. Definitely would return "

"The main bedroom was okay, other than not being able to open a window. The shower room however was very poor. There was a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom, which we reported. The shower tray flooded while showing, and there was mould around the door frame which I expect was a result of the damp and odours. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was good. Parking was easy at the nearby Shepperd Street and easily organised at checkin. "
