「Would never stay at this hotel again, we booked a windowless room however this was 2 floors below ground. The lifts weren’t working , the stairwell was dirty , the corridors didn’t have carpet or they were extremely worn, trying to find your room and way out was ridiculous it was like a rabbit warren with very poor signage . I was told that the rooms had previously been used for asylum seekers and this was obvious given the condition of the facility」

「I'd say our stay was average. The room was clean, except for the windows which were covered in hand prints. Both of the silver finish plates around the shower controls were loose and not attached to the walls. The restaurant food was ok......I saw customers wait for accompanying sides well after their mains were delivered. We ordered 1 large glass of house white and 1 red with our meal. The white came in a large glass but the red came in a small glass filled to the brim as they had no large...

「We stayed over for the concert at the open air. The hotel was clean and well maintained- all the staff were polite and friendly. Our room was clean. The bar was lovely and the restaurant and breakfast was perfect. The en-suite was very small but clean. The only thing that would have meant full star rating would have been a better parking arrangement, - a quality mattress and blackout curtains. That being said we would definitely stay here again.」

「Staff are really great and friendly! The room we stayed is near the alley which is noisy during the night that we couldn’t sleep well. And the pillows are flat that are not comfortable. 」

「We knew the car parking was limited but theres only 5 or 6 bays so had to park the car over half a mile away. On arrival the staff were friendly got booked in and went to room. Room was very tired looking and dusty in places, bed was clean but covers were basic (rough to the touch). Bedroom furniture very dated and chipped. The maintenance guy knocked 15 minutes later to apply some silicone to the bath as there had been a leak to the room below the previous week. Bathroom was also tired bath...

「Not beach views as it's on a back street . room 208 needs painting on walls and a fan in bath room as you can not open windows as they are wooden windows and could not open. the staff was nice . the hotel needs alot of work to get up to todays 3 star rating.」

「We’ve had a lovely stay with Raincliffe. Very welcoming hosts, happy to chat and share useful information. We had a really comfortable stay in a lovely room, with a much needed fan! Excellent coffee and breakfast. Would highly recommend. We booked a concert at the Open Air Theatre and walked there and back. Thank you for hosting, we had a great weekend.」

「Arrived to be given a key and parking disc , friendly but nobody overnight at a reception, big room but found it very noisy with the seagulls and road noise as single glazed windows , tap wobbly and no waste cover in shower , should have unplugged the fridge as noisy at night on and off , no plug point near the dressing table so couldn’t see when drying hair , did smell like a greasy spoon !!!」

「This was a lovely place to stop and then attention to detail for the guests was second to none. The hosts were very helpful and not too intrusive. If any complaints the car park was a bit tight but the hosts provided us with a disc for parking on the road. Ideally placed if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront. Will definitely be visiting again」

「The apartment is in a good location close to the South Shore and a 15min walk from the train station / town centre. The apartment was clean, spacious and equipped with everything we needed. If you are a light sleeper take earplugs due to the noise from the seagulls. The swimming pool and gym facilities were not available and I only received an email to officially communicate this one day after arriving.」

「This is a lovely clean hotel and round the corner from the foreshore..but there are steps going up to front door which not good for my knee..but if your fit I would say this is one of best hotels in Scarborough.」
