Mixed thoughts - it could have been truly wonderful from the outset but having to complain for four days about the suites allocated (and the lack of good service/help from the front desk staff) spoiled the experience.
Allocated a suite where building works to the roof were being carried out, then a suite with flat balcony closed in with fly/bat screens - suffocatingly hot and impossible to sit outside - finally got the open rounded balcony I expected from photo when booking but essentially missed enjoyment of one third of holiday, not to mention the aggravation factor. I was on holiday convalescing and the stress I was subjected to was unacceptable. Front desk staff feigned interest in rectifying but they had to be pressurised to help. Shop - awful, rude staff selling vastly overpriced products. Spa - hugely disappointing, had been looking forward to daily treatments; ridiculously expensive and freezing cold (they like to work in the cool I was told). Food options good, but breakfast at The Grill poor - if you can’t cook eggs, then don’t offer Eggs Benedict; and they had no breakfast tea (!). Two bigger pools loud and uncomfortably noisy - saving grace was the hidden gem of a pool behind my apartment block, quiet and totally pleasurable). The best thing about the resort is the stunning gardens and lakes and when I eventually got the suite I expected overlooking these then it was absolutely heavenly.
