「Turned up and got confronted by a member of staff in the car park who proceeded to tell us that there were only 3 staff working that day, and she had to clean all the rooms alone and everything was currently a mess so could we come back later to check in. The outside looked very tired and in need of maintenance so we cut our losses and decided to go and find somewhere else to stay!」

「Lovely room with everything you need. Pub was great for dinner and the breakfast was excellent (Great choice of cooked options and good selection of cereals, juices, yoghurts, croissants etc). All the staff I came into contact with were wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Will be staying again next time I am down in the area.」

「This hotel went beyond our expectations. On arrival met by friendly helpful staff. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and on ground floor as requested. The gardens are amazing. Dinner in restaurant was very enjoyable. There is ample free parking at the hotel and also has a spa (extra charge) attached. Im not sure how far the nearest station was as we were there by car which enabled us to visit various places. Every member of staff were helpul and friendly. I wouldnt hesitate to revisit this...

「The room is beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Helpful staff and was able to hire us a car to pick us up at the train station. Great breakfast and dinner, highly recommended. 」

「It’s not like staying at a Premier Inn or Travelodge but does the job. Could do with some updating and don’t expect an early breakfast as it starts at 9am. You get what you pay for to be honest and the bed was comfy, loo, shower there so just what you need essentially. Wi-Fi just didn’t work in my room which I’m guessing was because I was at the top so a boaster would help. Replenishing of tea and coffee, biscuits etc in the room would be great. 「Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. 」

「Battle is a very small town; having the helpful hotel staff in the neighborhood is certainly a plus. This building has existed as of the 16th century, and it's been properly maintained and apparently renovated in the toilet/bathroom.」
