"The rooms were clean and surprisingly spacious. Big bathroom, the sink is oddly small, though, it could use an update. The shampoo and conditioner, smelt great. The last but not least is the employees, they are super friendly and helpful. When I my car didn't start, on my check out day. The front desk man let me use his personal jump start kit to get my car going again. I am so grateful for people like this, helping out when they can, even when it's not included in their job description. Bless up "

"I loved this property ! The gym and pool were awesome. The atmosphere is great and love that they have valet!!!! The room was super nice and they sent pushy see check out if you need a few minutes due to the fact that the luggage carts are low in number. They are all so nice and friendly. We will definitely stay again!!! "

"My friend and I stayed here for a concert on a Friday night. It was a very comfortable and easy stay! I have no complaints and was impressed with how nice it is. I will say it’s worth paying the $50 a day Valet parking. Street parking is minimal and didn’t feel that safe. We Ubered to Oakland Arena and Ubered back with no issues. The BART is like a 7 min walk away according to my maps, we didn’t try it but just an FYI. The continental breakfast had good options! Eggs, potatoes, sausage, extensive oatmeal bar, waffle bar, fruit, begals, muffins, all kinds of yummy stuff with a nice sitting area. I would definitely come back here."

"Parking was $51 which is ridiculous. I asked for a luggage cart and porter left to go get one and never returned so we had to carry our bins up to our room. Lastly, someone was smoking weed on our floor and it was aweful - the whole floor stunk. I would not stay here again"

"Hard to believe it took me decades to find this spot! Area felt safe. Great view. Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and hot. Easy access to waterfront trail."

"This little gem has become my home away from home in Oakland. It has everything you could want in a city that already has everything—great food, cool bars, amazing music, plenty to do, etc. It's all brand new in a renovated space. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms are sparkling, and the service is impeccable. There's a rooftop courtyard, a game room, and good eats and drinks right next door. It's more comfortable than anywhere else in the Bay Area, and just as accessible. Well done all around, Oaktown Roost!"

"The family that owns this place are rude. Like the entire family. The only thing that makes this motel at all ok is the price. The microwave is unusable. The shower does not drain. The parking spots are super narrow. The fridge is almost useless. The TV is tiny. I would have stayed here again if it weren't for how unnecessarily the owners are rude. I will stay in a worse part of town just so I know I'm not giving those people my money. Stay a night and find out. Horrible experience will literally never repeat. "
